S.T.E.P. Wiki Website Not Loading

brucethemoose

Question

The STEP homepage and these forums load, but any other page in the wiki itself doesn't.

Tried on my home network, a VPN to several different countries, and 4G on my phone. Same result, usually a "504 Gateway Time-out" error. Been going on for at least an hour, but everything was working fine yesterday, when I was following this wonderful guide: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Gernash/MODWiki

So... is something up with the host?

Try it in 5-10 mins. It's usually either because there is a heavy server load due to a lot of requests (so constantly refreshes doesn't help) or due it it's own caching of pages. Server upgrades will hopefully be here sometime next month. We're getting closer, but it's slow going due to real life stuff with the staff.

Occasionally the wiki acts up. Should clear up shortly...then will act up later.

You just have to try and catch it at a good time. STEP is working on server upgrades, but it will take a while.

Thanks. How long does it usually last though?

Not trying to be impatient, just want to know if I should keep tapping refresh, do something else for a few hours, or come back tomorrow  :;):
