Opening this thread to use as a feedback thread for the equipment pack I'm working on as a potential add-on to F&L. If anyone would like to test my plugins that would be welcome, as well as any feedback in general on either package structure, what's included, balancing etcetera etcetera

The two main tenets are as follows:

 

  1. Only include equipment which has sufficiently high quality to seem as though it might originally have been part of the game. This includes quality of design, but also implementation and art style. I will for example never include weaponry which looks much more modern than the art direction employed in New Vegas, as I find this diminishes the overall aesthetic.
  2. Attempt to make said mods follow the same precedence in terms of balance, appearance or implementation. This is an extension on the previous tenet, but mostly serves to dictate that no two mods have a noticeable gap in quality, or that any of the mods overlap eachother. The most noticeable change will be that I have renamed all weapons to use more general names, like the vanilla "Sniper Rifle" or "12.7mm Pistol".

 

Currently what I'm looking at implementing more over the following days is making the Project Nevada - Equipment Module use Milennia's models where applicable (first and foremost the Desert Eagle, but also potentially the Mauser and the Combat Shotgun) to avoid duplicates, and give Trentosaurus' weapons the same treatment as I've given Milennia's.

 

03.01.16: I've rebalanced all of Milennia's Weapons. The PN weapons look pretty good overall, but if you think some of them are unbalanced or the like, just give me a heads up and I'm open for looking over them more in detail. Also added my pistol (Campo-Giro/Iberian Pistol). What I want to look at is the two armors in ADAM's Nemesis Pack, as at least the Prototype Riot Armor is ridiculously overpowered. The reason I haven't looked at this before is because there is no female mesh for it and I wanted to fix that (for the mod in general) before looking at the values, but I've had response from either of the authors so I'm not entirely sure it will ever be fixed.  EDIT: I fixed this for ADAM a while back.

I plan to add this to F&LNV.

I tried to download the merged esp. Mega asked me to type in "Decryption key". Can I have the key? Thanks!

Mono needs to link the file with the key in the url.

I'm probably gonna upload the custom Project Nevada plugin over the weekend, which removes the Ranger Recon Armors (and the other recon equipment that's present in the Advanced Recon mod, so that there's not two of everything) so you won't have to have Rangers walking around with those flat black and grey versions when they should be wearing ADAM's version, and the changes to the .44 Pistol so it uses Millenia's Desert Eagle. Can't recall whether I made it use .50 AE right now though. ::P: Will change the links then too.

Thanks man. I am doing some testing to make sure that the game is stable on my system. I think modded FNV is beautiful in its own way, a bit different from Skyrim.

I added this to my F&LNV setup. I removed WMX-Modern Weapons as you suggested. Time to explore the Wasteland!

Awesome! Let me know if you end up joining House/doing some of his quests (I set up the High Roller to be a reward for the last quest you can do without alienating the NCR or the Legion) and my message shows up. Should be a textbox you have to click on when you complete the House Always Wins III.

Probably going to be looking at rebalancing the Prototype Riot Armor and Defaced Ranger Armor from ADAM next. The PRT is ridiculously OP and shouldn't be better than the Riot Armors IMO (it's currently way more powerful than the best Riot Armor from Lonesome Road). More details on that in the opening post.

Just a quick update: I'm looking at some of the stuff added by Spice of Life, trying to make the ranger helmets use ADAM's textures (which are double the resolution) and so on.

Heya guys, dunno if anyone cares, but I've used my power as ADAM's custodian to make some custom textures for the Rogue Ranger Duster in Spice of Life, as well as making the mesh use Wasteland Clothing Hires Retexture's jacket.

 

Here's a frontal shot showing the new helmet (last one was just a black recolor of the default one, so much lower res) and the new high-res ranger coat (which i changed the coloring of slightly, to differentiate it from the default armor) as well as the high-res version of the Merc Adventurer jacket from WCHR, which is already in F&L:

Here's a shoulder shot showing the new worn NCR emblem. The previous version had the full default emblem, but I thought that was kind of strange with it being a "rogue" armor and not an NCR disguise either. I also wore down the pattern on the right shoulder:

And here is a shot of the legs, which use the kneeguards from the ranger patrol armor (which I also upgraded to use a tweaked version of the ADAM texture), and a much more whitewashed version of the default ranger jeans (which are much more blue):

Would love to hear what you think, if you like it I might ask the SoL author if I could release it as a standalone mod or an extension of ADAM.

Had to mouse-paint the skull onto the ADAM texture in Photoshop, but I think it turned out alright. Maybe the nose part is a bit too low?  :confused:
