So i'm pretty sure I have just isolated an incompatibility/glitch between RCRN v.36 and DDSOPTing the HRDLC1 and HRDLC2 textures as explained in the DDSOPT section on these forums. Â (I used Z's settings and method etc)
I have done a clean install/clean save with fresh .inis. Â Absolutely zero additional mods. Â When using RCRN classic, there is some pixelation in some of the textures, in particular grey skies, certain sunrays and in some of the fog textures.
Disabling those packs removes the artifacts, and installing the usual unaltered DLC packs also removes the problem.
It's rather sad, b/c I have seen absolutely no problem or graphical artifact with these altered DDSOPT packs with any other lighting system. Â All the textures look perfect, and the performance boost is significant. Â Nevertheless something about RCRN is picking out tiny 1*1 textures and amplifying them.Â
It's possible of course that I have screwed up the DDSOPT process, but I can't seem to pick out anything wrong in the textures perse by inspection.
