Missing NPC - [SOLVED]

Stijne

Question

So basically, after I installed STEP (after quite some hours...) I started the game, played a bit, and everything went fine until I came across some missing NPC's.

The first one I stumbled on about was when you first enter Whiterun, the blacksmith lady is talking to someone, but that person wasn't there and she was talking with.. thin air.

The same happened in Solitude, where some father talks to his kid (the kid's not there).

Anyone know what causes this? :)

I appreciate your help!

I do remember reading about this error and what caused it not to long ago, but after some searching I can't, for the life of me, remember it or find it. Obviously, this isn't an error caused by a normal STEP installation. Start by disabling any non-STEP mods and see the the issue remains. Also, be sure you're using 2.2.0a as it is the newest stable release. STEP 2.2.1 has yet to even go into the testing phase as we're still ironing out some possible conflicts and other things.

All right! Thank you for trying to look it up, atleast. :) I can't find it either.

I've found this can happen on occassions when you come upon a scripted scene in a "unexpected way", for example when using Alternate Start by Arthmoor I've started as a member of the companions and then when I've entered Whiterun proper Arianne (sp?, the blacksmith) was having the conversation with the Battle-born fellow without him actually being there. Similar things have happened on a vanilla install on occassions when I've been sent to jail in a city I've not discovered yet. Its worth noting that this doesn't seem to be reproducable since sometimes the scenes play out as expected and sometimes not.

Wet and Cold can also cause this, since depending on the weather, the mod can interfer with scripted scenes/events. Isoku seems to be aware of this though and has made exceptions so the mod won't interfer with scripted events like that.

I doubt this is a serious issue though, unless you come across it alot I wouldn't worry about it.

Aye, this must be it. I've got both mods installed. I'm glad it won't be too much of an issue! Thank you very much for your help.
