External programs don't recognize Skyrim SE mods

anon768

Question

So, neither Wrye Bash nor LOOT nor SSEEdit see any of the mods.

I of course added them to Mod Organizer. I tried reinstalling Skyrim, reinstalling MO, and moving everything from my SSD to my HD. I also tried it with versions 2.0.8.2, 2.0.8.1 and 2.0.8 of MO. Also, I'm using MO in portable mode, and everything is in Skyrims folder. It's not in Program Files and the folder structure is about as short as it gets.

The mods load fine in MO and also work in Skyrim. But they don't show up at all in any of the programs launched via MO.

I couldn't see anyting in the logs, either.

Any advice?

Oh yeah, I also tried it with Fallout 4, with the same result.

And I tried it with Mod Organizer in a different folder than the game. Same.

Here's also my ModOrganizer.ini for good measure.

I'm having this same problem... sorry that I don't have a log to post, this is my first time here and I'm looking for a solution. Interestingly, when I run LOOT, if I change the game to TESV:Skyrim, it will see the mods for SkyrimSE and it will change the load order and that load order will reflect in the right hand side of MO2.  SSEedit simply sees the base game and DLC and nothing else.

I also cleaned the DLC with SSEedit before I knew there was a problem. If I load LOOT and it looks at SSE, it'll see the clean files, but if I point it towards TESV:Skyrim it still sees the dirty files. So I have clean files somewhere (I just assumed they overwrote the dirty files) and dirty files in the data folder.

To be clear... LOOT is not looking at my original Skyrim game.  It's clearly looking at the Special Edition folder with the mods I have there, but for some reason, it's labeling it TESV:Skyrim instead of SkyrimSE. I don't know why.

SSEedit isn't seeing anything but the base game and the DLC...

Add these game specific switches to the argument field of MO/MO2's executable setup dialogue:

LOOT:
--game=Skyrim
"--game=Skyrim Special Edition" (be sure to include "" around this one because of the spaces in the name)
--game=Fallout4

xEdit:
-tes5
-sse
-fo4

Wrye Bash:

-g "skyrim special edition"

NB. Although Wrye Bash should be able to be called with game switches, I have not been able to get it to work correctly with MO2. The only recourse was to install WB separately for each game I run MO2 for, ie. SSE and Skyrim.
