Hey all!

Here is a dxdiag and system info. attachments for the games I play.

Any suggestions on how to upgrade this. Or should I build a new one? Cost is not an issue.

I would just like to play ultra high graphics as smoothly as possible.

and I don't want to take the time to research the parts

I hope you guys can help. Thanks

If a stop gap, you'd want to upgrade your RX 480 as you are rocking a 4k screen, right?

If you want a new build, I wouldn't bother until at least until early next year. I'm sure a "performance" Ryzen would last you at least 5 years and would be better value than Intel (as it seems you like AMD). I'm sure AMD and Nvidia will have something twice as awesome out next year on the GPU side too.

Ditch the CPU, get a modern i5 quad core because these games are affected by single core performance fairly proportionally. I like Ryzen but the single core is not quite with Intel, sorry. I may pick up a threadripper even though I have no real world use for that number of cores, but I like the big "f you" to Intel.

If you like the dx9 games you'll maybe want something higher than 8GB RAM, 16 should be more than enough. The reason is because dx9 game mirror the texture cache in RAM.

You may also think about having games stored on an NVMe SSD rather than a mechanical HDD or SATA SSD. The reason is because the bandwidth of PCIe x4 is much greater than that of SATA 6Gb. Even my low-end NVMe drive out performs the theoretical maximum for SATA3. I'd say leave this one for last, the effect is there but not obvious.

Thank you for the input.  I'm not sure what you mean by " If a stop gap, you'd want to upgrade your RX 480 ".

and, Yes I have a new Sony Bravia 4K flat screen.

If I understand both replies it sounds like upgrading this machine can be a good idea for now.
