I'm trying to run DynDOLOD for my Oldrim and I get this error:

What the hell. I just kept running it. Like a dozen times or so and eventually this happened:

Not sure why you believe Bruma is causing a problem? Look closely at your log what the error is: The LODGen_TES5_Tamriel.txt file is being blocked by another process. Only run one DynDOLOD process at a time.

Because the files it mentioned before Dyndolod stopped working were all from Bruma. That's why I copied all those lines. I see now that those lines have nothing to do with the error.

But I was only running one DynDOLOD process.

Even after restarting my PC and then only opening mod manager to run dyndolod once it would still return that error and stop.  No clue why it worked after I just tried again and again.

The installation instructions also say to not install DynDOLOD into special windows folders like Program Files x86 or into game folder, because of UAC or anti virus - which are also other processes that can block access to files/folders. Running as admin may help go around such problems.

If it went through eventually, nothing was preventing DynDOLOD from creating files anymore and all should be fine.

I did set it up to run as admin.

And yes it did go through. And I just tried it again just to see if it would work and it worked again. Thanks for your help!

I followed the step guide but this program gave me this error: "Duplicate FormID [00023775] in file [74] DynDOLOD.esp."

In Mod Ordganizer mod 74 is ExplosiveBoltsVisualized (not hex) in TES5edit mod 74 (hex) is dual sheath redux.

Neither have errors after being scanned in TES5Edit and I don't have a DynDOLOD.esp file so I'm at a complete loss for what to do or what has an error.

What can I do?

Here are the errors it did find (or what look like errors to me):

Here is the output of Skyrim.esm which is too large to post here.

The plugin at load order 74 at the time of the error is DynDOLOD.esp. The error message prints the name of the plugin at load order 74 right in the message.

The error typically happens in DynDOLOD.esp because the data with the error was copied from another plugin into DynDOLOD.esp.

You uploaded a log from TexGen instead of a log from DynDOLOD, so not much to deduct from that. But use latest version 2.41 and do not install DynDOLOD into special windows folders (c:\users\... which contains Desktop is a special window folder)

Fix errors in all plugins. Especially . Ignore errors in Vanilla+DLC obviously.

Typically this error is caused by a broken bashed patch.

But I don't have a DynDOLOD.esp file, so how can there be an error in it?

I will delete all the <Error: Could not be resolved> references in STEP Extended Patch, WetAndCold, and Cutting Room Floor. Then I'll run the program again and if it doesn't work I'll post the correct log (sorry about that).

When generating LOD with DynDOLOD.exe, one of the first things it does is to create the DynDOLOD.esp. The log shows something like "Creating new DynDOLOD.esp".

I've looked through my list and there is definitely no esp file by that name.

If there was an exception when generating LOD, new or updated plugins will not be saved. The creation of the new plugin happens "in memory" and it is only saved once the process is completed successfully and the option to save it is used.

I scanned the plugins again, Cutting Room Floor didn't actually have any <Error: Could not be resolved> errors, WetAndCold.esp now (for some reason) does not contain any errors.

The problem I ran into was with the STEP Extended Patch, I tried to find [19001D8A] and [19007212] to delete them but they don't seem to exist.

Since nothing has changed, rather then re-run DynDOLOD again, I'll just provide the log that it generated last time, it's attached to this post, I had to compress it because it's 400kb over my upload limit.

I decided to do a search for 00023775 (the number in the error) and found it inside Skyrim.esm, but I didn't do anything with it, I don't want to delete anything I shouldn't.

As already suggested: use latest version 2.41 and do not install DynDOLOD into special folders. Typically this error is caused by a broken bashed patch.

So head the warning in the log and remove the bashed patch to see if it runs through then. Most if not all posts about a duplicate form ID error have been because of a broken bashed patch. If that is the cause, get a newer version and create the patch again.

Unrelated but I suggest to remove SkyFall/Mills for best results.

When I finish generating LODs DynDOLOD gives me an error: 'Access violation at address 00964F7A in module 'DynDOLOD.exe'. Read of address 00000846'. It has worked for the past 2 months for me, and I have not changed my load order. Using MO2, if that helps.
