SKSE64 is now in alpha !

Recommended Posts

Its finally here :

for those in the dark :

The Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) is a tool used by many Skyrim mods that expands scripting capabilities and adds additional functionality to the game. .

Basically it is the essential cornerstone to allow most of the amazing Mods On Skyrim to actually work .

SKSE64 was the version that was in Development  for Skyrim :Special Edition  but got put on  hold until further notice   due to lack of time  , required skills and motivation .

For a time things seemed like it would stay stuck in Development hell forever....

Until now !

Now before Everyone jumps of their seat  and gets too excited  ?THEY MADE THIS VERY CLEAR :

Here is an alpha version of SKSE64. It is currently not intended for use by most users. It will be primarily interesting for mod authors and people who want to test things.

even so this is a Major Step in  modding Skyrim :SE to hell and back .

Yeah.  This is damn exciting.  I'm really hoping for a SR:LE 64.  SR:LE works okay for me, but more performance would be better.  From what I've read, the 64-bit version is way more stable.  I also stopped playing a while back.  The game is mostly very stable, but it still crashes occasionally, and the performance on triple-screens could be better.

You never know, it could be a possibility. Vortex + SKSE full release will go a long way in restriking interest. :)

I know that SKSE64 now is not intended for average modders like me but I would like to know how it is working at the moment.

Are there well known issues at the moment or just not enough testing time.

I'm wondering if I just install skse64 instead of the achievementsenabler-dll

What are the pro's and Contra's for the average modder atm??

I can't seem to find the right Runtime make, I've rolled back SKSE to 2.0.4 but i'm still getting the pop up, only now with 2.0.4 in the pop up/

You want the 2.0.5 skse version and the 1.5.16 skyrimse.exe version..So, you have to run steam console for the rollback:

1.enter "steam://nav/console" in your windows run box (Win key + R)

2.type in the console "download_depot 489830 489833 3146230552641174659"

3.go to "\Steam\steamapps\content\app_489830\depot_489833\" and copy the .exe to your installdir.

Also SSEFixes works with this version...there is a guide on what to do to make it work on nexus (check the posts).
