STEP Wiki OPEN for Community-wide Contribution

Recommended Posts

We have established most of the necessary content and a code base for SMW and the core functionality that this allows for us to begin hosting STEP in a more dynamic and community-driven fashion.

The STEP Wiki is open for contribution only to registered members of the STEP Community Forums.

  • Wiki accounts can be created only by forum members; however, anyone has read access to all of the wiki content.
  • Logging into the Wiki is tied to your forum account name, however, logging out of, and back into the forums will in no way shape or form have any impact on the login process to the Wiki. They are two completely different processes.
  • MediaWiki Pages are case sensitive (except, see point #4) and convert spaces ' ' into underscores '_'
  • MediaWiki will auto-capatalize the first letter of anything you enter, be it page names or user-names.
Registered users, please visit the wiki and log in using your forum login. Contact one of the administrators if you have any problems logging into or editing content on the Wiki.

Login error

There is no user by the name "rpsgc". Check your spelling

Removing all traces of my existence are we? :@

I think you have to have the first letter capitalized in MediaWiki.  Log out of both sites, log into the forums, and then try again with "Rpsgc".

I'm currently looking into issues. If you are still unable to log-in to the Wiki, please state so again (or for the first time). I did find a couple of users not setup right in the forum which would have caused failure, so if there is another problem I need accounts to look at.

And for the record, I want to clarify some things:

  • Logging into the Wiki is tied to your forum account name, however, logging out of, and back into the forums will in no way shape or form have any impact on the login process to the Wiki. They are two completely different processes.
  • MediaWiki will auto-capatalize the first letter of anything you enter, be it page names or user-names.

Good points, and I would add that write access to the wiki is dependent on forum status (i.e., forum registered-users only). So, wiki participation is restricted to STEP members.
EDIT: Well, I suppose that I am just reiterating the OP here :P

I'll add your points to the OP ...
