Actor/Mesh Positions Visible on Load

Hello,

 

I apologize if this is not in the right location and titled incorrectly. I had no idea how to begin looking for my problem (within the forums) and did not know how to properly describe it via the title. My hope is that I'm at least in the ballpark.

 

Anyway, I began my STEP journey last night, referencing several videos by GamerPoets and Gopher, as well as the STEP Wiki guide itself. Yesterday was spent making tweaks to ini files per the instructions I found, including the ENBlocal.ini. It was only today that I really began adding mods. A little while ago, I ran LOOT, built a Bashed Patch, and booted up the game via SKSE just to see that there weren't any issues yet. I brought up the prompt with tilde (`) when I got to the menu and typed coc whiterun to bypass the prisoner intro. Once I loaded in, that's when I saw all these lines, boxes and other things:

Edited to include SKSE.ini, Skyrim.ini and Skyrimprefs.ini since there might be something relevant in there.

Not seen that specific issue before but I'll take a stab in the dark and say when you 'coc'd to Whiterun the engine was still generating the terrain or something similar.

I'm not a big fan of 'coc' myself. I understand that it is useful in certain situations but it also is the cause of some issues.

 

If you wish to avoid the whole carriage ride rubbish Bethesda decided to foist upon us, you could either install Alternate Life or you could just make yourself a drink/sandwich while it is on.

The engine is running a lot of scripts during that phase and skipping through it may mean some are not correctly exited or those that need to start are not getting started. Likewise disabling mods with a lot of scripts until that is finished is also recommended. Since you have minimal mods though that isn't necessary.

Thank you for your quick reply, @GrantSP!

 

I went ahead and installed Alternate Start per your suggestion and started up the game. When I load in, there still appear to be actor/action boxes. I even went ahead and chose a random start (Hunting in the woods) and saw the same thing.

I feel like this might be an ini issue but I have nothing to base this on except my inexperience with ini files.

@Greg would you believe me if I told you that fixed everything? Because it did. I have no idea how this particular line got changed but I reverted it from 1 to 0 and all those markers are gone. Thank you and @GrantSP so much for your time! I can continue my modding now!
