Lexy's: Legacy of The Dragonborn Special Edition

Recommended Posts

Have you set up the integrations and the correct path to MO2? If you have, then having "copy general assets" should indeed copy everything to the merge folder, unless you have bsa files. Merge Plugins lacks the ability to unpack bsas for SSE, since it uses BSAOpt for that purpose.

Thanks. I don't know which one I was looking at or if I was just missing something, but all of the patches seem to be working correctly.

I just want to say thank you to DarkladyLexy and everyone else (sorry I haven't been here long enough to learn names) for putting together this so easy-to-follow guide, for doing things like adding idiot-checks and (at my humble request) categories to the changelog, for the little surprises like having all of the LOOT settings already described in the guide listed at the end in one place for double-checking, and a million other things.

I haven't quite finished the guide, I stopped last night before creating the Pre-Smash Patch because I'd been modding this game so much I finally wanted to play it! And I did, I started around midnight, first doing my usual test run around Whiterun, then the vanilla start, and from there, played until I finally realized it was almost 4am! (Where is that "Time on Loading Screen" or whatever mod that was when you need it...?)

The guide was even clear enough that when I decided to take out the character enhancements after it gave Hadvar a porn-stache, it was very clear exactly what I needed to disable. I did that before starting to play, and I had no CTDs, no drops in framerate that I noticed, the fans on my video card didn't even run much of the time. It was incredible!

I am going to have to learn a bit more about how to pick patches for merges, as adding in a few of my favorites (seriously, Peaceful Mudcrabs is a must) is bringing me dangerously close to that 255 mark again.

One suggestion and one question so far. The suggestion, I switched to Tempered Skins for Males. To me, it doesn't look any different than Vitruvia (granted, I play a female who hasn't seen a naked male yet - give her time ::P:), unless it's something weird with my setup and you can confirm that with Vitruvia, in the cart ride to Helgen, Lokir has toes.

The question, can anyone suggest a different ENB or should I just disable that whole section for now? The outside looks great, but inns are still WAY too orange when there's a fire pit, and while I usually use dark dungeon mods, the Alternate Start cell is so dark that I kept losing my way to the bed (despite how many times I've played it) and I kept running into walls and getting completely lost in Helgen Keep until I finally found a torch half-way through. Nights I like completely dark, but dungeons, you can't really sneak well with a torch...

Did anyone experience an issue with LOTD and Helgen Reborn? Finders Keepers is a radiant quest and it sends me to the area around "Staadomaar Temple", which is added by Helgen Reborn as far as I've found out. I'm not able to start the Helgen Reborn recruit quests, because of the vampires (playing with Skyrim Revamped Enemy Overhaul and Encounter Zones and my char is only Lvl 12 atm, so that has to wait 20-30 Levels lol). Does anyone know how to reset this quest? I hope that I'll receive another location then because I'm not able to find this Staadomaar Temple or the map marker south of Silent Moons Camp and NE of Bleakwind Basin is wrong?

If I"m not mistaken, the entrance to Staadomaar just North East of Brittleshin Pass' northern entrance.

ENB is difficult to suggest due to personal preference.  Can you handle the heavy hitters or do you want one that is more lightweight?  Do you want Realistic, Fantasy, a Combo, Bleak?  A Lightweight one is Ultimate Natural SSE and leans toward the Realistic side.  My suggestion is to download ENB and Reshade Manager and try several out.

The manager is very easy to use. Put whatever version of Boris' ENB and whatever ENB Preset you want in your root Skyrim SE folder.  Open the manager and type the ENB version and Preset name into one of the slots and hit the save button on the slot.  Change out your ENB version (if you want) and your Preset...rinse and repeat.  The manager saves everything, so the next time you want to switch out just click on the applicable slot and it's installed.

Thanks, I'll try that! My system could probably handle heavy ones, but I don't want to overtax it too much. I'm on a 6GB card with 8GB of memory, a HUGE upgrade I just got (along with a new motherboard, CPU, m.2 drive, etc), but not a monster. (Although I had SLE working quite well on a 2GB card on my ancient system with some careful tweaks.)

I've never used an ENB before so I'm really not sure where to start. I'm just looking for natural and realistic (everything looks really over-saturated right now, from faces to food to the bright orange inns, although many areas are lovely!). And dark nights (which I actually feel was part of one of the weather mods in SLE) but dungeons that aren't COMPLETELY black if you don't have a torch (which I also feel like came with one of the weather mods).

Look at the first 3-4 pages here ENB Presets and you will get the most popular with a few good lesser well known ones thrown in.  A lot of it also has to do with your chosen weather and lighting mods.  Those three combined is what gives you the look you are after.  As far as the saturation goes, you can adjust every single setting in whatever ENB Preset you choose to use, in game, on the fly, by just hitting SHIFT-Enter!

Lexy, has the replacer esp for Skyrim Sewers been changed to reflect the mod's update to version 4.13 on May 2? I checked this version of the mod against 4.12 (from April 17, which actually reads 4.13) and the plugins are different in size, with 4.12's SkyrimSewers.esp being 1.687.681 bytes and the latest 4.13 being 1.738.682. The replacer esp seems to be the same as the one I had downloaded in April and it's 1.687.712 bytes (very close to the older esp).

The author mentions a few fixes in the latest release so maybe whatever issue was going on has been addressed?

Um... wow. Or eep. Or something. I'd saved a couple of old posts on the subject and am currently trying out PhoenixVivid that was mentioned in one of them. The natural one you mentioned looked a bit too washed out, but to be fair, I didn't try it with my currently way overly-saturated look.

I still haven't quite figured out how to use the program. I realized I needed to rebuild my misc merged patch first. I got the right path in there, do I need to launch it from there or from SKSE in MO2? Or launch this ENB manager from MO2?  I need to find one of those "ENB for dummies" videos on Youtube.

Was that necessary?

Bad time for a bad joke.  The word regret comes to mind.

Yes launch Merge Plugins from MO2.  Launch the ENB Manager from it's icon.  Can install it where you want.  If you prefer to read you can go right here: Guide: ENB - S.T.E.P. Project.  S.T.E.P. has everything you need for Skyrim.

I have the same issue with the fire pits, I think it is one of the other interior lighting mods that's doing it. Unfortunately I can't get ENB (well, the main .dll for it) to work with SSE, so I'm just using a Reshade preset and dealing with it. (Sort of. Cringing...but dealing.) With an ENB you could definitely adjust the interior lighting with one value alleviate the wall-splatting darkness, I did that in my setup for SRLE.

Perhaps try Skyrim Re-Engaged by firemanaf on the Nexus. Easy to install, looks good, and has handy brightness control for indoor & outdoor lighting. I'm enjoying it on my mid range pc.

Lexy has removed them from the guide completely.  We are not allowed to post mods that have been "removed" from the Nexus here at the S.T.E.P. forum.  ToS Rule.  I learned that the hard way sometime back.  I thought I was helping someone complete the guide and got a spanking.
