Best resources for Mod Creation?

TheTechGenius

Question

I've been modding Skyrim for years now, and I would like to start learning how to Create Mods for Skyrim LE and Skyrim SE, to start giving back to the Skyrim Modding community.

Since I don't have much money to support the modding community by donating to my favorite Mod Authors, I thought it would be great to give back to the community by creating my own mods.

Does anyone know of any good resources to start learning to create Skyrim Mods? I already started reading the Creation Kit Wiki, and I am currently learning 3D Modeling for Weapons and Armor creation. But any new resources you know about would be great.

Thank You!

Step 1: Download Unreal Engine 4

Step 2: Learn how to import your assets into it

Step 3: Be amazed at how easy the last step was

Step 4: View the metric tonne of tutorials for material creation

Step 5: Be amazed at how intuitive and easy the last step was

Step 6: Do your assets look Unreal ™? Export to Skyrim

Step 7 (Optional): Shed a tear as you leave all those awesome modern tools and features behind

After that you need some sort of NIF exporter (there's usually some on Nexus) for either Blender or 3DS MAX to get your stuff into Skyrim. In your case, make statics or weapons first as they won't cause you to have a mental breakdown as you try to get them working correctly. ::P:  The best place for tutorials is still probably Nexus Wiki. Don't forget to ask for help on the dedicated Bethesda modding sections of certain sites either.

Oh wow, thank you.

And yeah, I already setup my 3DS MAX for NIF Import and Export. And 3DS Max is now free for everyone, as long as you dont use it for Profit or commercial use.

Im getting pretty good at it too, the hardest thing for me is creating custom armors. lol. I know the basics for modeling custom clothes and armor, but I have to get much much better to make anything that is really "Mod" worthy. So I will start with making custom weapons, creating custom swords is not that hard at all really. You just need to know and get use to all the tools you have in 3DS Max.
