I've set lightcriticalsections to 0, and that reduced the crashes, but it still freezes sometimes on a transition or save load. If I go without it, it works well excepts its a stuttery mess

If you are using Windows 10 and have the Creators Update then some users get crashes when using FSR (including me) and some don't (including GamerPoets).

did you ever find a way to negate or reduce crashes, or do you run without FSR. Game has crazy stutter without it

I use the game without FSR, and yes it has noticeable stutter. I haven't heard of any solutions for those systems that crash when using FSR.

You can use the Stutter Remover without crashing on all games with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. However, there are two lines in the .ini file you must change in order to remove the crashing. I am using the GOG version of Fallout 3 and am roughly 10 hours in without a single crash. Open up your FSR .ini located in Data/FOSE/Plugins or in Mod Organizer and change the following two lines to equal zero.

bHookCriticalSections=0

bHookLightCriticalSections=0

They are right next to each other. Failing to set both to zero, will cause crashes on cell changes. However, with both set to zero, you can successfully remove the stutters and also be crash free.

Cheers,

Audley
