Have you noticed that some NPCs are clearly meant to be elderly if you look at their faces, but their bodies seem to be more appropriate for a younger person. Furthermore, this is not consistent - some older NPCs have bodies and faces that match.

Now, this may or may not bother you, but the visual disparity annoys me. What most people might have done is make the fake-old NPCs younger. Instead, I reckoned that generally the NPCs are generally supposed to be the age their faces look, so decided to make their bodies match their faces.

I've been following Consistent Older People for a while since it makes bodies and faces of a number of the older people in Skyrim reasonably consistent; this helps in lore friendliness at least for me. Previously this mod required using SkyBash because of the race edits it made. The new version removes the race edits, and the need for SkyBash which hasn't been updated in a while, so it should be more compatible with other mods.

I think this causes an issue with texture seems on older people. Anise from Anise's cabin Southwest of riverwood had this problem. Can anybody confirm this?

Also could be a other issue:

Improved Foot Wraps for females requires according to the MA: FemFeet by Phygit

https://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3666 which is not part of STEP

Interesting... I wonder if we ever had FemFeet or if no body noticed it way back when; this mod has been in STEP forever.  I'm not entirely sure that could cause this since she's not wearing footwraps, but if you made a save there please throw in FemFeet and see if it fixes the issue.

The XCE mod in STEP includes female feet meshes so FemFeet shouldn't be needed. Neovalen doesn't include much of XCE in Skyrim Revisited, and I'm not sure that any of the mods included there have a female foot mesh (it isn't included in the standard UNP body mods, for example).

This mod has a mirage of options. While for Core the recommended "All NPCs" version is okay, as long as the STEP patch is used it should remain okay for Extended as well. If the STEP patch is not used, the All NPCs BOYD Compatible Loose Assets optional version should be used.

I would like to challenge this by changing the recommendation to the All NPCs Loose Assets optional to keep in line with STEP's recommendation of using loose files whenever possible. I would also like to recommend adding the No Elves optional file to the recommendation to keep the mod lore friendly.

They are among the longest living and intelligent races of Tamriel, and they often become powerful magic users due to both their magical affinity and the many centuries they may devote to their studies. Source: https://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Altmer

It is common knowledge that elves, in any lore, have outstanding longevity and live to be very old while keeping their fare, young complexions. For this reason I recommend we include the No Elves optional.

Thoughts?

about aging of elves:

Mer are capable of living for a thousand years, although few ever actually live that long due to disease and violence.[1] Altmer are far more resistant to disease than the other races of Tamriel, due to their sublime physical natures and often being gifted in the arcane arts.[2] The Altmer were also taught how to naturally live another hundred years by Phynaster, the Hero-god of the Summerset Isles.[3] At the time of the publication of the Pocket Guide to the Empire, Third Edition in 3E 432, many living Altmer still remembered Tiber Septim's conquest of Summerset, thus putting them at an age of over 400 years.[4] According to Uupse Fyr, there may be some Altmer/Aldmer on Summerset Isles who are over 4000 years old.

so imho, definitely "No Elves optional" if we want to keep it close to the lore.
