Usually 100 MB-200 MB less than RAM. In very dense locations about 2.4 GB VRAM are used.

The recommendations probably should vary based on VRAM, similar to how basic STEP does Baseline / Performance / Extreme. (I don't necessarily agree with how they do it, because I think it's pretty confusing, but it's there.) I understand that SR is not intended to be a universal guide and it's just what Neovalen personally prefers but I don't think it would take too long to put some recommendations together like: 3GB: 2k everything + 1k normals 2GB: 1k environments + 2k weapons and armor 1GH: 1k everything (Note: I'm not making any claims that the above are accurate or would work, just an example.)

@torminater Do you think 2k by 1k textures would work on everything? This will be my goal.

I don't have memory related CTDs anymore, so I guess 2k by 1k works ;-)

I'm already at 1k for most things, I don't crash often either.
