Conflict Resolution

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm sorry to have to ask such a (probably) dumb question, but how exactly should I read the ''conflict resolution''. I don't really get what Neovalen means by ''Use record from Book Covers Dragonborn.esp then move the DESC record from Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp.'' for example and I can't even seem to find the ''070280C1'' record.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Firstly the 07 is based upon load order position... in this case Dragonborn.esm is the base module. Its in the 07 position as shown here:

0 Skyrim.esm

1 Update.esm

2 Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp

3 Dawnguard.esm

4 Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp

5 Hearthfires.esm

6 Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp

7 Dragonborn.esm

8 Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp

As for the rest: Use X means to select "Copy as Override To..." on the X column and place it in SR Conflict Resolution.esp. Then drag the specified record from Y into SR Conflict Resolution.esp to effectively merge them.

If you haven't already, it will likely be helpful to watch the video on TES5Edit in the tools section. Hope this helps.

Hi Neo,

Although I am not at home using TES5EDIT at the moment, I think that there is a typing error in (bold):

0000003C Tamriel > Block 0, 1 > Sub-Block 3, 4 > 000038B8 > Temporary > 000FE8C0

Conflicting Module(s):

Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp (Mod)

RealisticWaterTwo.esp (Mod)

Conflict Resolution: Use record from RealisticWaterTwo.esp then move DATA from RealisticWaterTwo.esp.

Problem Resolved: Position/Rotation fix was not forwarded from unofficial patches.

I think, one of the 2 "RealisticWaterTwo.esp" in that sentence should be replaced by "Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp".

I am not at home now to check which of the two needs to be.

Your correct. Will fix tonight.

Thanks Neo.

Some more...

5.3.10.53 -> "Problem Resolved:" description would be better if it was: "Record Flags and Location fix from unofficial patches were not properly forwarded."

5.3.10.55, 5.3.10.59 -> Apart from using the record from Unofficial Skyrim patch.esp, shouldn't we also move XCLW from EnhancedLightsandFX.esp ? ...and then change the text at Problem Resolved.. (unless this is due to me having installed v. 0.4.1 of ELFX)

5.3.10.53 -> In this particular case the record flags were not important to the final result. They just came along for the ride.

5.3.10.55/59 -> I have added a note that we are also using the Water Height fix from USKP. Nothing against ELFX modder but I trust the USKP team more on this one.

Just kind of an off-topic question Neo : do you think that if I always play with the latest version of the guide' date=' adding mods on the way, my game will remain stable? I'm just so eager to play Skyrim and I like the direction in which you're going with the LE.[/quote']

Perhaps? It's hard to say where the winds of fate will take me as I move along. I can't promise anything on that note.

My $.02...

Neo, while very very good, is not a deity and so probably can promise no such thing.

The top of the guide even says "Do Not Use" since it is in sandbox state.

... and stability is a long way off for highly modded setups until certain creative fixes are implemented. Neo's big patch is a good way to fix problems with some mods, but the inherent engine flaws need solutions like Altimor's

I am personally waiting for several more months or even a year before finalizing my mods and playing the game.

When it comes to stability for Skyrim I'm not expecting more than 30 minutes without crashes ^^

Well I for one cannot play with a crash frequency like that. First, it's anooying and second you are continuously anticipating/anxious about anything you do in game that can cause the next crash. But to each his own.

If you do crash that often, I'd suggest you use Autosave Manager, it helps a lot.

Oh, and one last question ^^ Do you think that skipping the Conflict Resolution part alltogether until there's a final version of the guide would make the game a lot less stable? Or maybe, just maybe, could someone make a downloadable SR Conflict Resolution.esp available? I don't believe that would infringe on the authors' rights, right?
