Can automatic fomod installers succcessfully be converted to 7zip archives?

Dweedle

Question

So I could install stuff like Fallout Wanderers Edition and Darnified UI with Mod Organiser for Fallout 3?  I've done some googling but cannot find an answer.  Unfortunately the Fallout community does not have a place like STEP but I'm hoping that the crew here could help me with this query.

I thought that *.fomod files were actually 7-zip archives; the fomod extension brings up the Fomod installer. To get automatic installation with Fomod files they need an fomod script if there are any options in installation. Does Mod Organizer handle the fomod scripts from Fallout 3?

Darn helped the group that did SkyUI when they were starting. Skyrim interfaces are completely different than those in the Fallout and previous TES games, so the code he developed previously wasn't useful in Skyrim.

As has been mentioned, fomods are themselves archives. Occasionally a mod author will distribute a .7z that contains a .fomod so the content is compressed twice.

MO, both the integrated and the external installer (NCC), handle fomods from fallout BUT the fomod format has gone through a few iterations and while NMM seems to support all old archives, NCC bundled with MO seems to have problems with some old-style fomods (i.e. at least one of the popular hud mods).

And I hate working on NCC :(

I hope that with NMM 0.5 the code becomes more "compatible" with separate directories for mods and thus easier to adapt to MO, but for now everytime I touch it something else breaks...

OK this is Mod Organizer Forum for any Game Now and I am not Fallout user however I do know Most Fallout Problems have solutions if they are FoMod Installers Mod Organizer should handle them it has two different FoMod handlers the NMM one and another one try whats set by default and if it doesnt work you can switch them in settings Plugin Menu

Another option is to search Skyrim Nexus Mod Organizer Forum it was Main Forum and move has only just happenned

On either there or here GSDFan is a Fallout with Mod Organizer user and does know what he talks about so hope that helps for now he may answer this question soon but you will proberbly find old answer anaway if my general help isn't enough
