We don't really know who created this ... only suspicions. Best to just check yourself.

My own assessment reveals that all are 2k color maps where available accept for outdoors, where they are 1k I think. I also think that all normals are 1k. the torrent description basically says as much. Otherwise, simply download the 2k unoptimized torrent and do yourself.

Hm... I just noticed the 1k-2k version containing 1.257 files while the 2k version with dawnguard and update contains 1.463 files. At least that's what windows shows me after unpacking the archives, 7z shows me less files in the 2k archive so it might be a bug on my side. Is this normal?

Nope that's about right once you remove all of the redundant textures from the HRDLC that "somehow" got in there.

qbittorrent is a viable and non bloated option for a torrent client, its the best IMO, I won't put up a link just google it. I however have all the SRO files already (SRO/SRO Dawnguard/ SRO 1.6). I've had them for awhile and I don't think they've been updated. I have the Skyrim HD files as well. However I question the placement in the STEP guide. I feel like Seriious and SRO should come right after Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized (which I don't use). All the other mods are more recently updated and IMO of better quality. What do you guys think?

That SMC does look interesting since the end of TPC.

While I'm at it have any of you checked out horrorview's sexy towns mods (no they aren't pornographic)? I've used them in the past sometimes with other mods overwriting them with interesting results: http://www.nexusmods...rim/mods/7583/?

I've also been looking at Hein84's Vivid mods, which look amazing. He now has an All in one pack as well as a new Birthsighns and Castle Volkihar mods: http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/49344/?

Then there is Mystery Modders and Skunky123's Skyrim Ultra HD Texture Pack. It is an all in one of which some are already implemented in the STEP Guide: http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/35507/?

Lastly there are CaBaL120's aMidianBorn mods. All of them are fanstastic and some are already implemented. It would be great if there was an amidian all in one mod. I think the bridges and other mods should be looked at. I specifically wanted to question the Creatures pack found with the Book of Silence mod and using it to overwrite Bellyaches Creature mod. It would only overwrite six creaures which IMO look better: http://www.nexusmods...im/mods/24909/?

Thoughts?

(p.s. Hi I'm new.)

(p.p.s. if this post would be better somewhere else please move it. I couldn't find a general suggestions thread and I didn't want to start a topic for each mod, some fo which probably have their own threads already.)

EDIT: It seems like I may have broken some rules so allow me to clarify. I mentioned these mods here because they themselves are also massive overhauls which I am interested in using. I'd like to know how they would work in conjunction with SRO (and Serious HD), as well as the instal and load orders people would suggest in relation to where SRO is in the STEP Guide.

I am very happy for the thousands of people who successfully downloaded the torrent, however, got bombarded with six viruses three times in a row.  Maybe I have better virus security and others are not realizing what they are downloading.  Without getting into too much detail let's just say my neighborhood has some of the best firewalls on earth.  That being said I am an experienced Modder and I have downloaded thousands of mods from all over the world so it's not a case of not knowing what I am doing.  I am suggesting that STEP might want to reconsider pointing to a torrent that clearly offers viruses.  It might be causing more harm then good.

Name one file in the entire torrent that is a virus?

Maybe you just click pop ups or incorrect links, but that package does not come bundled with any viruses. I'm actually 99% sure that the person that uploaded that file is a STEP member. I've also downloaded it twice, one of the those times in the last two weeks, and it was just fine.

I'm 100% sure the file we point to was complied and uploaded by a very reliable STEP member. I've personally downloaded and seeded it many times and for many GBs. Not a thing wrong with it. Can't say anything for the ads that might be present on the file's page; however, I never see them as I use a ad blocker.

This reply should be interesting...

wow those mods looks seriously good, why are they not in STEP 2.2.9? Does anyone know if these mods are compatible with STEP core/extended? How would one install these mods in STEP without breaking anything?

Hey guys does anyone know why SRO makes no visual difference for me? I installed it correctly within a STEP extended build (i think) but I'm not seeing any difference in both visuals and frame rate when in-game? I even made screenshots to compare with SRO disabled/enabled in MO's left-pane and see no difference whatsoever. Can anyone help me, please?

edit: might it have to do with the meta.ini file within the SRO mod folder? This line...

installationFile=D:/Users/Jim/Game Stuff/SkyMODS/MOdownloads/SRO - 2k/Skyrim Realistic Overhaul v1_6 Update 2048k-5400-1-6.7z

...while being the correct path to my MO mod downloads folder, I can't help but suspect something is amiss within this meta.ini file, maybe?

Perhaps someone can either check the officially sponsored torrent link or tell me what I'm doing wrong. After following the instructions on the STEP guide to the letter (No, I'm not clicking on an ad or any of the other 'download' buttons flashing all over the page), all that I get is a text page full of gibberish in my web browser once my download is supposed to start. I would very much like to download the SRO mod but I'm unable to at this point ...

Others have posted the same issue on this thread.

You need to install uTorrent, which is the lightest program out there I think, despite what has been said on this thread (Hint: use Ninite to manage installs of basic utilities).

It is perfectly legal to download the mod via torrent, but several countries' ISPs outside the US block all torrent sites due to stupid gestapo-like laws relating to *copyright infringement*.

A valid link to the torrent is in the STEP Guide with applicable warning. Neo also has a link from his guide.

Starac (SRO author) is a member of this community, but he rarely posts anymore. He does not want to host his work due to his misgivings with the modding community associated with the Nexus (i.e., the modding community at large ;) ). As Neo stated, Starac has pointed to user-hosted torrents as a resource, and he also will share his work directly (to those of his own choosing) with the understanding that his work must be sourced only through him.

Starac is still working on Skyrim though; however, his latest textures are exclusive.

I would gladly pay for Starac's newer textures. Is there a way to request/purchase them?
