Is anyone aware of a mod that would remove all the icons from the compass?

I use Hardcore Compass Mod. It might be old as hell, but it still works. I think the reason why it's not popular is that it was incompatible with the older versions of iHud, but it works with the current one.

Does anyone here know of a good mod to change the look of Whiterun while still sticking to the actual style of the city? Aside from Dawn of Whiterun, the only ones I've found basically turn the city into an overgrown forest...

What type of style change you want? Fantasy type or just a color change, maybe one that makes it more of a commerce center?

Oh just something that would add some actual life to the city, such as stalls, crates or clutter like that. Maybe a couple NPCs too. As I said, I've looked at Dawn of Whiterun but didn't really like the patio that it added to the bannered mare :/

I actually saw that one while searching, and imho it does add too much flora in a city that was bare. For example the deathbell in front of every house when deathbells are supposed to grow mainly in the swamps of Hjaalmarch...

I did search, but the problem is actually that it's hard to find the gems in the midst of all the results :p
Anyway, Real Cities and Ultimate whiterun both look very nice, I'll be giving these a try ingame and in TES5Edit. Thanks a bunch :)

Is there a mod that prevents all NPCs that have any quest associated with them from getting killed?

That would break a quest that comes to me. The old lady in Windhelm, that needs to be alive to do the Butcher quest arc: you have to kill her for the Dark Brotherhood. If you render her immortal, it'll break the DB progression.

Ok I worded it wrong. Is there a patch that prevents quest NPCs to be killed by monsters or other NPCs? :)

It claims
it adds flag to NPCs and it's conflict free.
Compatible with everything
Put it up in your load order.
