STEP and Skyrim 1.6 [Official] Bug Reports

frihyland

Question

Unconfirmed Issues with 1.6

  • So far I am aware of a major bugs with the Campanions guild introduced by 1.6 to the vanilla game, avoid them and their quests until a future patch.
  • For mods their are reports of UI elements breaking, mostly the crosshairs. Voice dialogue is also having issues as well as animations.
  • Overall 1.6 is a tremendous improvement with many major bugfixes and optimizations, its another milestone moving forward.
  • Unfortunately the mod issues cannot even be worked on until a 1.6 compatible version of the CK is released, then it will take a mod authors a while to implement, be patient.
  • Thread open for reporting your issues.

Voice issues is related to mods that make changes (fixes) to dialogue. USKP changes a LOT of dialogue for example, so is not recommended to run with 1.6 for the time being unless you can live with that ofcourse.

Disabling USKP is not recommended unless you are going to avoid doing any questing, avoiding game breaking quest bugs is higher priority than hearing dialogue (just turn on subtitles and read it).

Edit: quest triggers and scripts attached to dialogue may be broken as well as voice files. So you need to avoid all questing regardless of running USKP or not :P

There was a post by Arthmoor in the official forums, don't count on a USKP update for 1.6 until Bethesda updates the Creation Kit.

Apparently the CK is broken and can no longer update dialog or trigger scripts through dialog for 1.6, thus all quest and/or dialog fixes are broken. Thank god for Skyrim Unplugged.

So if you are running Skyrim 1.6 and did not freeze your install at 1.5 using Skyrim Unplugged then it's highly suggested to remove USKP or completely stop questing until it is updated.

Edit: Link for Athmoor's post.

Edit2: Link for another Arthmoor post specifying what is broken.

IMO, 1.6 is yer another useless update. I cannot believe taht Steam has not addressed their own broken updating system with regard to enabling/disabling.

s4n is the man with SU. Go endorse that one if you have not already... it deserves consideration for mod'O'the month.

1.6 a useless update? O_o It does bring some issues that are hopefully fixed asap, but the navmesh fix is HUGE for the modding scene, actually the most important fix that modders have been asking for for a looong time now.

ATM, I mean, it is a useless ('forced') update. It would be nice if they held their updates in beta for at least a month or two prior to release; however, they always jump the gun and force it out too soon.
