Well I'll be taking a 16 week course in a couple months for Maya, and Mudbox obviously someone will hopefully have handled this by then.

Right. Well I think someone who uses Max or Blender needs to look into this as you need to apply the skin weights back onto the model I think (unless you don't edit any polygons it may be okay - not sure). UVs in Maya could just use a re-unwrap and that would probably be enough to fix the stretching. The only think I can think of is if someone sends me the needed files, I download it on my phone and transfer to my drive. Someone else will need to get it in the game though and I will probably take a few weeks or more to find the time to have a look.

Just gonna list what needs to be done, hopefully I don't forget anything

- UV tweaks

- some workaround for the stupid gaps between underwear mesh and body mesh (I don't know what the best way to do this would be : readd polys to the body mesh under the underwear mesh that Bethesda deleted, make the body mesh and underwear mesh one object, etc)

- (optional, but pretty needed) add some loops to the calves area, because it's 2015 and that really looks terrible

- (optional, but pretty needed as well) improve the weighting, it's really not glorious either

 

 

I might give it a try myself too in a few weeks (need to ingest more knowledge about skinning/weighting etc).

Anyway, I can give a hand to whoever does it with my (very limited) abilities if needed.

This topic has to be the most interesting and conversely the most frustrating and confusing I've seen just about ever. I've read it nearly three times......

Just wondering, if we choose a mod like Women of Skyrim https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25588/?     what would be the additional mods that we would need to add eg femfeet, scars, any of Xenius's etc. This mod seems not a bad choice and of course no need to replace vanilla body.

 

EDIT ZZJay does recommend femfeet...............

So I took a whack at fixing the vanilla female mesh. I mostly know what I am doing in Maya but I need someone to test this mesh to see if it is done properly. If so Yay! If not I'll try again. Can't let brumbek have all the meshing fun trololololol!

Will try it when not on shift work - If you can make a very nicely proportioned nude but vanilla clothing and armour compatible female mesh it would be very much appreciated.

 

Prometheus did one but the butt looked odd, as did the breasts which had sort of a not so rounded shape. It was a good stab, did not increase the amount of poly's as much as the rest of the body mods do so it was performance friendly too. Its other failing was the vanilla flat pie feet with no soul ..

.. For the last issue you might want to have a look at something I found recently - Based on Phygits Feet ( which are excellent if these ones do not turn out to be seamless ) - FemFeet Redesigned https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37022/?

 

I used Phygits originals which are seamless for the body mod I put together, but have yet to try the redesigned ones.

I'm getting a repeatable CTD with this mesh. I know it's the mesh because I can not have it active and no CTD. Active = CTD. Repeatable every time.

 

The crash happens whenever I'm un-equipping armor. This is on a fresh, new game that I just started for this test. Haven't even gotten to look at the body in-game because I can't take off the armor without a crash.

I appreciate you asking but I will not do a nude. For one my intent is only to fix BethesDUHs crappy job. For two I'm a Mormon and consider that to be pornography. I respect anyone else's belief but as for my self I will not be doing a nude. I hope you understand.

Humor me and try it with the weight slider all the way down. I was lazy and only did one of the two meshes so that could be your problem. I'll do the second one tonight which would at least resolve that problem. I'll double check if I've done anything else wrong.

I'm also happy to donate all my work into a STEP female overhaul when this is more finished.

Still crashed. I did it dirty though and used the "showracemenu" command on my save from earlier and moved the slider to 0, then saved. A proper test will have to wait til I'm home from work. Heading out now.
