MSVCP110.dll missing error prevents running DDSopt

lelouch_luffy

Question

I was about to begin DDSopt configuration per the STEP guide for optimizing vanilla textures, but I could not run the application do to the error "The program can't start because MSVCP110.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I looked online and found that "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable package (x64) should solve the problem. I installed that, but the error still occurs. I could use some help. Thank you.

I think the 2012 version is the one to use. There are links to it in the DDSopt guide (look near the beginning of the Quickstart tab or near the beginning of the Using DDSopt tab). As others mentioned, it's best to install both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

Thank you. That is probably what solved my problem. I updated my 32 and 64 bit versions of 2008, 2010, but I also went and used that for 2012. The solution was right there in front of my face makes me feel like a fool. But thank you guys for the help. Hopefully it's smoothish sailing from here.
