Mod Organizer Spotty Downloading, Won't Log In

atlasatlarge

Question

I'm having a very frustrating issues with a great tool. Mod Organizer worked just fine for a few hours and then I started having problems downloading consistently from Nexus.

Some mods download just fine and complete with no problem. The majority of mods stay at 0% for a few seconds until Mod Organizer pops up with an Error: Download Failed. Server Reported:. The download then immediately pauses and attempts at resuming it prompt the same error. This happens in both Chrome and Firefox. Sometimes when a file fails like this, the Mod Organizer replicates the file in the Downloads pane. The duplicate file is also paused. Attempts to delete the second file report a Failed to delete <path><mod>/7z.unfinished (obviously attempting to refer to an already deleted, unfinished file).

If Mod Organizer is not set to automatically log in to Nexus, the failure happens in another way. When a download is queued, Mod Organizer will prompt for a username/password. Though the combination is confirmed to be correct, the program will attempt to log in for about a minute and then display two error messages on top of each other: Server time-out and Failed to log in.

Regardless of what options are selected for log level in settings, the most recent file I can find in the Mod Organizer's log folder is named mo_interface and reports these two things:

[*]If using Firefox to download:

C:Program Files (x86)Mozilla Firefox

MO at: C:Program Files (x86)Mod Organizer

not primary instance, sending download message

[*]If using Chrome to download:

C:Program Files (x86)Mod Organizer

MO at: C:Program Files (x86)Mod Organizer

not primary instance, sending download message

I've also tried to use the .47 NMM version workaround, to no avail. What's happening here?

Mo stores the login cookie, the problem only occurs after the cookie becomes invalid/expires

where is the cookie stored? it must be in some secret area i cant find it. multiple uninstalls/reinstalls still cant login

I think you misunderstood. Mo can not login right now. You cant fix that. There is no workaround. What i was saying is that if you still have a valid login cookie from before the nexus change then downloading will continue to work until the cookie expires. But if you delete the cookie it's game over.

Actually there is a way, if you know a little bit of tech stuff. All you need is

00 00 00 01 00 00 00 71 73 69 64 3d 54 68 69 73 69 73 77 68 65 72 65 74 6f 70 75 74 79 6f 75 72 73 69 64 66 6f 72 6e 65 78 75 73 6d 6f 64 73 2e 63 6f 6d 3d 20 65 78 70 69 72 65 73 3d 54 75 65 2c 20 31 39 2d 4a 61 6e 2d 32 30 33 38 20 30 33 3a 31 34 3a 30 37 20 47 4d 54 3b 20 64 6f 6d 61 69 6e 3d 2e 6e 65 78 75 73 6d 6f 64 73 2e 63 6f 6d 3b 20 70 61 74 68 3d 2f
It's in hex. If you can find out in your logged-in-to-Nexus browser what 39 character sid is in cookies, you can put that in the file named nexus_cookies.dat and be able to go fine. Call it your daily dose of hacking. Oh, and the expiration date is just random. I used the Cookies app inside Chrome to find mine.

Also having this same problem. Just installed Mod Organizer for the first time today to replace NMM and was stone-walled in the midst of the tutorial. I just made a clean install of Skyrim and am looking forward to downloading a very large number of mods so I guess I'll wait along with everyone else for the fix.

Did you get the latest version of MO because it updated to 1.2.5 a few hours ago?

The issue with downloads should be fixed, but earlier today there was server maintenance and the site has been experiencing issues all day. It is not an MO problem like it was before MO's update. We just have to wait it out.

when i try to update a warning pops up saying: " No incremental update available for this version, the complete package needs to be downloaded (16733kb) "

when clicking "ok" it closes and it's like nothing happend

EDIT: I updated manually but the error is still there :(

Hey all,

I am having a similar issue using Mod Organizer 1.2.9. I've already tried installing MO to a new location, deleting the nexus_cookies.dat file, as well as changing my NMM version to 0.50.3 in the workarounds tab and so far none have helped. I've also disabled automatic login and logging in on download fails as well.

I have disabled the previewDDS.dll - I don't know if this is related or not. Having it enabled causes the ModOrganizer.exe process to kick off (I can see it in the task manager) but the app doesn't make it even into the splash screen.

I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit if that makes a difference. If any other information would be helpful let me know.
