Someguy mods?

I noticed that Someguy has some interesting mods that are on the Nexus but not on the F&L guide. I'm playing a character based on a clean install from the ground up of F&L, and I'm about 40 hours or so into him. I've completed most of New Vegas Bounties I & II.

So...three questions...

1. What is (if any) the opinion of the F&L author on the other someguy mods? Are they safe/compatible/unknown?

2. Could I install them in the middle of this playthrough, or would that be too risky?
3. Could the someguy mods be merged in some way or another?

1) I like the someguy mods and put two of his mods in the guide (three if you count the Someguy ESM) because they didn't give me any issues while playing through them. I tested Russell recently and had issues with it. Just about all of the major bugs listed for the mod happened to me, so I will not be including that mod. I have not tested The Inheritance, so I don't have an opinion on that mod. I am looking forward to NVBIII though.

 

2) I imagine that you could install The Inheritance at any time, not sure about Russell. The someguyseires.esm makes all his mods work together.

 

3) Never tried it, but the merge script is pretty awesome. You check the mods for errors before merging though because it tends to fail if there are errors.

1. I can live without Russel, and at 120 active plugins my mod count is kind of thick right now,  but I might be tempted to try out Inheritance. I get very sad-sack when I get invested in things I like and they don't work right, so I'll shave off some time tomorrow to play with it and test it out. I am also very much looking forward to NVIII.

 

3. Check for errors using LOOT you mean? Aside from those two stray navmeshes, they seem fairly clean.

I mean open the plugin in FNVEdit and then right click the plugin and click Check for Errors. If there are no errors then it would probably merge. You would need to do it with all the plugins. Also, I wouldn't merge the Someguyseries.esm, just leave it be and merge the other stuff if you do that.

I picked up a couple of errors that I don't understand in NV Bounties I, something about the "target not being persistent". I'll just as soon not merge them, I guess.

I did go ahead and download inheritance seeing as it was it's own quest mod and I didn't see it as threatening to my whole save file, made a backup just in case. I'll guinea pig on that for you if you like; get back to you in a couple of days and tell you if it seems to run well.
