dungeons too bright

ssconvert

Question

Using STEP-full etc with countervibe enb, just started and in Bleak Falls and noticed once in the crypt

its hardly dark.

Does anyone know a fix for this to make dungeons darker? I've read enb may not be dark enough for

some people but this is unrealistic.

Any help please. Maybe a darker dungeons mod?

Thanks man, not being funny or anything but you may want to add in the enb guide that dungeon lighting using countervibe is a real immersion breaker, you can see every trap etc and you dont need a torch/lantern. The outside looks awesome, nights too but without realistic lighting in the dungeons it just not worth it.

I don't suppose Bes you could advise/reconmend another enb that has dark dungeons?

In the last step guide I used climates of tamriel i think and that was perfect for dungeons, however can't use now because I have Dawnguard installed.

I've been using Project ENB + Climates of Tamriel for a while now, it's the one recommended by TheCompiler and includes More Dynamic Shadows in the Optional Files.

Skyrim Enhanced Shaders has always been held in high regard, it is a resource-heavy config with custom shaders, though, so you might have to tweak it a bit for performance (use the 0.119 beta).

Superb ENB-RL and Sharpshooters Extreme are some other popular configs.

If your system is up to scratch, I'd suggest trying out some new ENB 119 configs, since that's supposed to fix the interiors.

Just out of interest, why was RCRN dropped from latest step version. Will they be going back to it in next version?

Using Enhanced shaders 0.119 beta and still too bright. 9.00pm and can still see well into the distance.

ENB is just in the lead right now, every Post Processor has been on top at least once now.  Next time around we will present them all for you to choose from yourself.

As far as being too bright have you used the mods suggested in the ENB Guide?

Yes those mods work with any ENB, although you shouldn't need them in a mod that is actually fully configured for .119 features (notably unique effects for interior and exterior and weather conditions) giving a dizzying array of possibilities and tons of extra work to cover every possibility.  I haven't even seen anybody try yet, cheers to the first masochist that does.

A few 0.119 random quickies I took. Not vanilla based by any stretch of the imagination. Never underestimate the amount of masochists on Nexus. :P

Looks nice Staind, one of your future presets or one out there?

Thanks! Still a wip with some soon to be released "extras" from a resident Nexus genius. Can't really say more about those or they will find me in concrete shoes at the bottom of a lake. I'll let you guys know as soon as they are available. Very impressive. ;)

Not really sure if we will be releasing this ENB though. Right now it's just something we are playing around with.

I'm also having this issue. Or well, sort of. Project ENB 0.113 + Climates of Tamriel makes the dungeons way too bright, even with the darker dungeon esp's. When I install the CoT plugin for hazardous or hardcore dungeons the darkness is "sufficient", but not as much as you'd expect from a hardcore darkness preset. The problem with this though is that it makes the image very washed out/hazy inside dungeons, like the ENB author describes.

I have tried swapping in Countervibe for Project ENB, but the result was exactly the same. Countervibe seems to be slightly darker from the get-go in interiors, though.
