From the mod description:

<quote>

Ever gone to Winterhold to do the Mage quests and then find yourself wondering how it's possible that someone who has been part of the school for all of a week and has no magical skills above Apprentice can become Archmage?

Me too.

This mod aims to fix that. You will go to the college, meet your instructor, and work your way to archmage-dom.

Upon entering the college in Winterhold you will meet Jordan Mhoram hanging out around the entrance to the Hall of Elements at the end of the bridge leading to the college. Speak to him and he will charge you insanely exorbitant fees to take his classes. Upon payment he will provide you with books. As you progress in your spell abilities, you will be able to go back and speak to him again to start the next "semester". Once you have reached Expert level, he will direct you to the various masters of their individual schools in order to do the Master level quests.

You can specialize in one school of magic. As long as at least one of the schools has reached the next higher skill level, you can go back to Mhoram for more books. You can go to Mhoram for your Master level spells once one of your skills reaches 90. He will send you on to the Masters of the individual schools of magic at that point.

Ran across this after reading the other recent winterhold College related items. This seems to work with both of the others (Entry Requirements and the Mage's Guild NotSoFast(?)) and adds the requirements to actually... I dunno... know magic to be the Arch-Mage? Looks like, in combination with the others, would be similar to the Thieve's Guild Requirements mod we already have in STEP.

Just in three pieces. I'm installed to take a look and will report when I have something. Of course, that could take a while - I suck at being a spell slinger.

Never thought I'd see a Lover's Lab mod proposed for STEP inclusion. (Well, a clean version of one). Isn't this unvoiced? I don't know STEP policy on unvoiced dialogue, so can't say one way or the other. I haven't used it but it sounds like a good way to improve the Mage's College questline in a minimally invasive way. Hopefully it does indeed work with Not So Fast.

Not sure if it's unvoiced or not - I'm still a ways from the COllege at any rate. Now that you mention it though, Nexus did state a requirement for Fus Roh Doh, so that makes sense. Heck, even if true, it isn't the only one *I* have that does that. I think it would be a Step Killer though.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi! I appreciate the consideration. CDW is supposedly being voiced, but I haven't heard from the guy in quite awhile. Might be time to find someone else. Know anyone who does a good male high elf?

Also, there is a clean version on Nexus. I just threw together the LL version for that particular audience.

Ha ha, yeah that part I got. What's involved in voicing a character? I'd give it a crack if you think I can mask my accent well enough.

I can put on a high-brow silver-spooned voice but whether it is 'good' enough is a subjective matter.

Wow, there's a site for voice actors?! Another one of those things that continues to amaze me when I find out about it. Thanks @Teabag86.

Looks like a couple of candidates in that list for this job already.

ps. looking forward to see that mod you alluded to being released shortly when all permissions come through.
