In another post I discussed the need to use a unique file type. This new file type is called the Witcher 3 Mod Pack and the extension is .w3mp It is really just a zip archive with certain specific files contained within, but to avoid conflicts with other programs I'm using a new extension. I don't expect mod authors to always want to build these mod packs by hand, which is why I will be making a tool to create them from any folder containing the correct folders/files within.
It will generate the following:
- The required ModData.xml (with all the necessary data filled in for the author)
- The required readme.rtf ( with the option for the author to select a file to use, enter their own text, or retrieve the readme from their mod page)
- Finally, A .w3mp file structured correctly and ready to upload to the nexus.
I would like to get the mod authors thoughts on this tool and the use of the .w3mp file
