Try this:

[MEMORY]

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false

ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true

DisableDriverMemoryManager=false

DisablePreloadToVRAM=false

EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false

ReservedMemorySizeMb=256

VideoMemorySizeMb=6144

EnableCompression=true

AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false

ok thanks im still getting horrible stuttery lag  just in vanila skyrim with this enb? im sure this should not be happning. any ideas whats going on? i get solid 60fps with it turnd of.  the enb is Natrule lights and atmosphirics v1-4 with the skyrim enhanced shaders NLA.  im using a 980ti

The horrible stutter is from      the 4k textures (if you have them in the landscape) most likely. Skyrim doesn't tend to do well if you have more than 1-2k landscape textures unless you have TONS of VRAM (like 6-8GB)

He's on a GTX 980TI, which has 6gb VRAM I think.

From the looks, your VideoMemorySizeMb is too low. Did you follow the instructions here to get your 6GB number? https://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost#tab=Recommendations

You might play with ReservedMemorySizeMb as well.

Or do you really have a GTX 980TI in combination with very little actual RAM. If so, it sounds like your problem is not enough physical RAM.

VideoMemorySizeMb is fine. It's not used until it's needed anyway and this setting only tells ENBoost how much memory it can use; it's not how much it will use unless textures are freakishly maxed out and are using all of it up. Since 4K textures are being used, set ReservedMemorySizeMb to 768 (you'll have to play with this value). Also, you'll probably want to up your SKSE vales from the default. This you'll have to play with as well. Currently mine are set at:

[Memory]
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=896
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256

Never adjust ScrapHeapSizeMB away from the default because it never uses more than the default so you'll just be wasting memory by doing so. Unfortunately, every system is different so it's going to take some enough on your part to test out different value until you achieve a smooth game.

I think he said he was having trouble with stutter, not CTDs.

I have a similar problem, I'm also unsure.

I have an older computer with 4GB of RAM, but under 'System Properties' in Control Panel it says I only have 3.25 GB of RAM.

I'm just installing a new 2 GB video card.

So I'm uncertain if VideoMemorySizeMb = 2048 + 4096 - 2048 = 4096

Or should it be something less

Maybe 2048 + 3072 - 2048 = 3072 ?

Thanks for your help.

Try this:

EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true

The only way I can use ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true without horrendous stutter is to use the other setting.  It is this way for a lot of people - I'm surprised this wasn't suggested yet...  While it's better to see if re-adjusting some of the other settings solves the problem first, it just may well be that the only way to solve it is to either set EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true or set ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false.  At least to try to see if it works, since quite a few people need to do this to remove the stutter introduced by ENB's memory handling features for Fallout New Vegas.

EDIT:  Oops.  I was thinking this thread was in the Fallout New Vegas forum...  :)
