Missing textures/walls in caves

Avarium

Question

I am missing some textures particularly in caves! (have not noticed anywhere else)

Made a litle video of my issue.. :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq0_QgdzYZc&feature=youtu.be

I use ONLY step guided mods excluded only a select few (Foz Ro Da) that i did not care about and i do not use anything outside of the guide at the moment except for realvision enb

Anyone know what is causing this?

If I'm not mistaken, Static Mesh Improvement Mod provides the meshes, and aMidianBorn Caves and Mines and Re-Defined Dungeons provide the textures. What I'm seeing in the video doesn't appear to be a simple texture issue, though. Missing textures typically show up as a a blue area where the texture should be.

This looks more like a mod changed the interior space of this particular cave since that area is missing, although nothing in your load order really stands out as a probable cause. I don't think DynDOLOD touches interior spaces, and I don't think the bashed patch should effect this either.

This cave is modified by dawnguard. Maybe there is an error in here. But I highly doubt this wouldn't be fixed by the UDGP, and I don't remember any STEP mods potentially causing this issue.

IIRC this is an "real" interior cave (there is some cave which actually are small worldspace surrounded by walls and toped by a rooftop), so it shouldn't be dyndolod either.

Now this is very interesting because I had (incorrectly) thought all caves were real interior spaces, although I do know a few that are so small it shouldn't surprise me that it's a bit of Hocus Pocus with the walls and roofs on an exterior space.

In TES5Edit, expand Skyrim.esm and then the "worldspace" group. You'll see that beside Tamriel and the 5 instancied cities and some other obvious open spaces (Skuldafn, Blackreach, Sovngard, ...), some like the eldergleam sanctuary or the moss mother cavern are also worldspaces listed here and not cells.

If I load up skyrim without mods via the steam launcher everything is fine and nothing is missing so I guess it has to be one of the mods doing something?

I even reinstalled SMIM and both cave texture mods nothing changed

As you mentioned it's a dawngaurd cave? Can something be missing from my tes5edit cleaned dawngaurd esp's or maybe the unofficial dawngaurd patch? I'm totally out of ideas otherwise

the cave is Greywater Grotto

I just checked in TES5Edit and the only mods I see that alter Greywater Grotto are Skyrim, Unofficial Skyrim Path, Relighting Skyrim Legendary, and ELE Legendary Lite. The last two add sunlight and alter the lighting in the cave with no edits to anything other than the lighting.

The only things I can think to check is to make sure you have the DLC mods and the unofficial patches in the right order in both panes. The left pane should be:

Cleaned Update

Unofficial Skyrim Patch

Unmanaged Dawnguard

Cleaned Dawnguard

Unofficial Dawnguard Patch

Unmanaged Hearthfires

Cleaned Hearthfires

Unofficial Hearthfires Patch

Unmanaged Dragonborn

Cleaned Dragonborn

SKSE

PapyrusUtil

Stable uGrids ToLoad

Distant Decal Fix

Unmanaged: HighResTexturePack01

Unmanaged: HighResTexturePack02

Unmanaged: HighResTexturePack03

Unofficial High Resolution Patch

In the right pane:

Skyrim.esm

Update.esm

Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp

Dawnguard.esm

Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp

Hearthfires.esm

Unofficial Hearthfires Patch.esp

Dragonborn.esm

Unofficial Dragonborn.esp

I doubt this is the issue I think Mod Organizer will throw up all kinds of warning bells if these aren't in the right order.

Make sure you are using the latest versions of the unofficial patches. These should all be version 2.1.3b with the exception of the Unofficial High Resolution Patch.

If none of this fixes it, go into an interior space, save, and exit. Then uncheck the cleaned versions of the mods and try it again... just to rule out something hasn't gone amuck with the cleaned versions of the mods.

thing is this is what MO tells me when i place my left panel the way you showed:

The conflict resolution order for some mods with scripts differs from that of the corresponding esp.

This may lead to subtle, hard to locate bugs.

Please first ensure your load order is correct!

If it is you should re-order the affected mods (left list!) like this:

Move Unofficial Skyrim Patch before Unmanaged: Dragonborn

Move Unmanaged: Dawnguard before Unmanaged: Dragonborn

Move Unofficial Dawnguard Patch before Unmanaged: Dragonborn

Move Unmanaged: HearthFires before Unmanaged: Dragonborn

Move Unofficial Hearthfire Patch before Unmanaged: Dragonborn

tested it the way you showed nothing changed

now this is what my mo wants my left panel arranged to

SKSE

Unmanaged Dawngaurd

You have the 'Cleaned' ESMs in the wrong places. Each 'Cleaned' ESM should follow immediately after the unmanaged vanilla one and THEN the Unofficial patches come after those.

What you are doing here is this:

Original ESM is being patched by the Unofficial Patch and is then reverted to vanilla (albeit clean) ESM again.

You have it correct for "Dragonborn" but not the others.

Additionally if you have MO managing your BSAs, you should, then you don't need the plugins for the Hi-Res Patchs active in the load order. That's why they have that little broom icon beside them.

okay changed the order so now its correct unmanaged>clean>unofficial patch all done, but my problem remains

the only mods (according to tes5edit) that do anything for this cave are: Skyrim.esm, Unofficial skyrim patch.esp, birdshfclean.esp, relight skyrim and ELE lite

I am rly stuck on this

I have the very same problem. I mean: in the same place (greywater grotto), with the same disapperaring walls and even more severe problems toward the end of the grotto. Did you manage to solve the problem? Thanks
