p[HELP] Various problems after "successfully" installing S.T.E.P extended.

devilpool

Question

Hi guys. So I recently completed installing S.T.E.P Extended after installing a fresh Skyrim game. I've made sure to patch everything correctly, including DYNDOLOD, Duel Seath Redux, etc. However, I've been encountering several issues.
First is a startup glitch. It is very minor and the least of my worries, but it exists. Basically, the game stops responding for a few seconds as it boots up (into borderless windowed mode due to onetweak)
Secondly is, even though I've done everything in my power to make my game anti-CTD, it randomly CTDs within a few minutes of start up.
Thirdly is some pretty heavy stuttering that is pretty frustrating. Even after ENBoost and crashfixes.

I'd just really like a stable game for once. Out of all my years of modding, I've never been able to achieve a truly stable build, which kind of discourages me.

I've been at this for ~8 hours and to be completely honest, I'm not frustrated. I've modded this game a 100 times over before, but this is the first time I've used S.T.E.P. I'm sure it's not Step's fault though. I know I messed up somewhere, but I'm not sure where.
Anyway, after completing Step, I've only installed five mods outside of Step (COT, ESS-COT patch, Supreme Storms, True STorms, NLA, and Phinix ENB COT+AO+ESS+NLA+TS(idk something similar to that order lmao). As well as Alternate Start - Live Another Live (pretty much a necessity IMO). I also have ENBoost, the SKSE memory patch, the Memory Blocks Log fix (deleted it after I did that patch because it causes CTDs when you keep or smth?) I've also configured my inis accordinly.
Also, there was another thing that I thought was strange. When I was installing the STEP Compilation Patch - Hires, I didn't qualify for either the core or the extended versions of the patch within the installer, even though I had every single extender mod downloaded. I continued on with the installation anyway, selecting the STEP extended version, because I was absolutely sure I had everything.
I'm on the latest Nvidia drivers. If you think it's a driver conflict, which one should I roll back to? As I had the latest drivers before I installed the game.
And yes, I've tried uninstalling the few mods that I installed after STEP, but that's not working. Also, not exactly willing to mess with STEP unless I am directed to do so.

It has been solved thanks to TendiesForBreakfast on this thread. It was apparently due to a incorrect installation of "elemental staffs". I had only installed the optional texture file instead of the main file along with the texture file. Strange, because I usually read everything(skim through everything accurately), but I guess I just missed it that time. I was able to solve it by installing the .esp in the patch file manually, as it notified me of the missing masters. I will definitely be sure to suggest that the master "Elemental Staves.esp" be added to this thread in case this error is ever recreated. I'm terribly sorry for inconveniencing you. Thanks again for all of the help from everyone!

1) For the STEP Patch (which you are missing), did you select yes when asked if you installed Realistic Ragdolls and Force? Or did you press "back" at any time? For the former, that is the one block to getting the patch besides the mods listed in this thread. Unless there are more required masters since that thread was updated.

2) In enblocal.ini, turn DataSyncModes off (=0).

Yes, I did select yes(it's automatically selected, but I clicked yes on both anyway). Also, I've checked with that thread and I still wasn't eligible. Afterwards, I went to the actual STEP page and made completely sure that I had every single mod, core and extended, installed and activated in MO. I'm going to try redownloading the patch from the nexus page and see if anything changes. Also going to uninstall each mod that I installed after finishing STEP(which I've already done before and the conflicts still existed, but I'd rather sort STEP out first rather than go my own way) except for crash fixes. Also, any idea on what could be causing my stuttering? I have 4gb of vram and 16gb of RAM as well as a pretty decent GPU IMO, so I don't think this should be happening.

I'm really not sure why you can't access the STEP Extended Patch. Or even the Core Patch. That is just weird.

I don't think it should matter for the patch, but do you have everything ticked in the Archives tab of MO?

MO is to manage my archives, so everything in the archives panel is ticked by default (at least so it seems since there's a checkmark in every box)

Are you using MO's "Internal" FOMOD installer? If not you should be.

Settings>Plugins>Fomod Installer ...both should be set to "true".

I just checked and both are set to true.

I feel like should just delete it all and try again(lol bye @8 hours of time during exams) This error hasn't been recreated anywhere else as far as I know, so I couldn't find any threads anywhere that reported of similar problems. All of the necessary executables are also set to "Run as administrator" so that they can freely dabble with files. Skyim and all of the tools I use are all installed outside of program files as well. I myself:/

Bad idea to have MO or the executables run as administrator. It can cause weird problems. If you have Skyrim and MO outside of program files, that is good enough.

As for the rest...that is odd. I have heard of people not having the installer allow them to install the patch quite a few times, but it always came down to them missing a mod. Since you don't seem to have, I am kinda stumped. Maybe Tech has another idea.

For giggles, try to install it with everything NOT set to run as administrator.
