MO rewrites skyrim.ini when I launch SKSE

Question

Hello, I recently started playing Skyrim on a new laptop, and I saw somewhere that Mod Organizer was better than Nexus Mod Manager, which I had used on my last computer. When I started a new game with most of the same mods I had installed on my previous game, I noticed a new error: Some armors added by Immersive Armors were not showing up on the NPCs they had in my last play through.

I should clarify: not only were these armors not present in the NPCs' inventories, NPCs who were supposed to be wearing these armors had invisible bodies, only their heads and limbs appeared.

I searched around for a solution and found that the problem was supposed to be rectifiable by modifying the skyrim.ini file to say "bInvalidatOlderFiles=1" for which the default value was 0.

I realized that Mod Organizer had separate ini files that needed to be edited, and did so, but found that whenever I started Skyrim, the problem remained, and when I checked the files again, my edits were missing.

This is kind of a big problem for me so I would appreciate any advice I could be given. Thanks.

If you need to edit skyrim.ini or skyrimprefs.ini in Mod Organizer, run Mod Organizer and click INI Editor from one of the toolbar icons at the top. These INI files are in the ModOrganizer/profiles/[profile] folder, where [profile] is the name of the profile you are currently using.

I tried that, multiple times in fact, it just keeps resetting when I play the game

Click the profiles button and tick the Automatic Archive Invalidation checkmark. Please let us know if this causes the missing armors to show up, although I very much doubt it.

This actually lead to a CTD when I tried to load a save, when I turned it back off the game loaded fine, but the armors were still missing

Never mind, I reloaded an earlier save in an area where no one had on armor from the mod, then moved into an area where someone did and it showed up fine.

Thanks!

Well, that is something I would very much like to test.

Never mind again, I went back to the area I had had trouble loading before and the characters' bodies were still invisible, the ones I had looked at before seem to have only been fixed because they were NPCs from another mod who were supposed to be wearing vanilla armor anyway.

I'm stumped
