ENB v.308 crash at load game/new game

BoSoxBry

Question

Hey guys,

So I'm fairly frustrated. I have followed the guide to the letter up until the ENB binary installation. Unfortunately, I have an instant CTD whenever I try to load a save game or a start a new game with the 308 binary. The odd thing is that the 271 binary appears to be working fine, with the same enblocal settings. I suppose I could just go ahead and use that binary, but I'm determined to figure out what the issue is here!

I've installed the memory patch for SKSE and tried updating my Directx run times to no avail. I can post my enblocal file when I get home; don't think there's anything out of the ordinary here.

Thanks in advance and thank you so much for the guide Neovalen; you have made modding fun!

Correct, and specifically the 308 binary. The 262 (or 292?) binary does not prompt a crash. No particular reason, I may have saw it recommended in the ENB Speed and Stability Guide.

So yes, confirmed ENB 0.292 binary is functioning with no crash. Also turned deferred rendering back on, same results.

Ok I'll do that, thank you!

Out of curiosity what enb you used? And if you use the same enblocal.INI on both version sometimes it could cause crash in my experience. The way to solve it just to use the original enblocal.INI from the enb you used. Just an FYI had this experience from Tetrachromatic ENB Edited by reddvilzz

I'm also getting the same error. I've tried the aforementioned fixes, but I'm still crashing with v308. v292 is working fine however. I'm also following the SRLE guide and I only have ENB for ENBoost. It's unfortunate because I really wanted to use NLVA when I was finished the guide :/ But I'm not sure if it supports v292.

Do you guys have the enbhelper.dll installed in your enbseries folder?  Version .308 requires a helper .dll at least for weather mods.  Doesn't sound like it should cause crashing without if you're just using enboost... worth a shot though.

enbdev

helper.dll

This version require helper mod to run per weather setups (if not used, then ignore helper mod), download it from link in readme.

Yeah thanks, but that didn't work either. As opposed to devilpool, my game crashes regardless of whether I start a new game or try to load a regular save or autosave. I will let Boris know and report back here if I find anything out.
