Infinite Loading with Modded New Game (Skyrim)

skyrim modded

Best Answer Tykune , 24 January 2017 - 01:39 AM

I think I may have found my issue.

Even though I have skse.ini set to use:

DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=1024
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256

Memory blocks Log is reporting that Block A and B are allocating only 256MB... how is this fixed?

I just recently started a new game after modding up Skyrim, and I cannot seem to get past the first loading screen. It just seems to infinitely load and I've tried looking at a few basic fixes and checks, but I could not figure it out. I would provide a papyrus log, but I am not permitted to upload it for some reason.

Please read the 3 stickied threads in the top level of this sub-forum.

Papyrus logs are not diagnostic material for ILS.

Causes for ILS may be something other than that you first expect, a lot of checking will need to be done.

Long lists should be placed inside 'spoiler' tags, which I have edited your post to use, and you can also use PasteBin or similar.

Ah, thank you.

ILS are usually due to missing master plugins or BSAs not loading, Please check to see that all plugins needed are active and that MO is handling your BSAs and they are all loaded.

An easy way to work your way through long lists of mods is to disable a half at a time and see if the game works with those. If it does the problematic mod will be in the other half, divide that in two and repeat.

I will try that, though I have noticed that the Bashed Patch disabled quite a few of various mods, and some I did not imagine would need to be disabled... could this be the cause of the issue?

As I am going through the mod list, I just realized that I would have to keep tabs on what mods the bashed patch disabled, which is quite a bit.

Here is what the bashed patch disabled:

Weapons & Armor_TrueOrchish&DaedricWeapons.esp

Dead Body Collision.esp

Weapons & Armor_TrueWeaponsLvlLists.esp

Complete Crafting_TrueWeaponsLvlLists.esp

GQJ_DG_vampireamuletfix.esp

Paralyze.esp

dD-Dragonborn-Dawnguard-EBT Patch.esp

Radiant and Unique Potions Poisons and Booze.esp

Soul Gems Differ.esp

randomthunder.esp

Traps Make Noise.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-AMBSkyforgePatch.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-CRFPatch.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-NECPatch.esp

BetterQuestObjectives-PaarDilemmaPatch.esp

Moss Rocks - Legendary.esp

AOS_Reduced_Reverb_Addon.esp

The STEP Guide never made mention of enabling them except for VM Trap Fixes.

Do all of these look normal for Wrye Bashed to disable from the bashed patch creation?

Does your "skse.ini" have these values:

[Memory]

DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 <default heap initial allocation size in megabytes, vanilla size is 512>
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 <scrap heap size in megabytes, vanilla size is 256>

How about "Skyrim.ini" on these:
[Papyrus]
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.6
fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=1200
fUpdateBudgetMS=1.6
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=8388608
iMaxMemoryPageSize=4096
iMinMemoryPageSize=128

https://wiki.step-pr...rim_INI/Papyrus

Not to take away from STEP but here is a Great Stability Guide:

https://www.nexusmod...im/mods/50244/?

I don't see a Load Order in your first post though there are too many mods that could do this.  Everytime this has happen to me, it was because of bad ini files.  But I'm just guessing.  Take it for what you will.

What GrantSP said about backing up your load order than turning off the First Half of your Load Order->Run Game (vice-versa for 2nd half) and see if the Problem persists is the Default way of Troubleshooting Bethesda Titles. =Backing UP All of the Config files is the Best Practice :)

I double checked SKSE and the Papyrus, though Papyrus wasn't set as high.. I can run it to try and get more information. I also posted, incase it mattered, what plugins the bashed patch disabled. Some of them seemed like they shouldn't be disabled... but then again, I dunno.

Alright, I deactivated the mods and enabled them one by one, and everything worked fine until i got to a few specific ones... it seems that it is crashing due to DynDOLOD.. and I am not sure why. The only thing I can think of is the three .esp that DynDOLOD Resources added into my load order:

DesyncBirdsOfPrey.esp

SolitudeExterior.esp

WhiterunExterior.esp

or perhaps something to do with the Textures?

I will remove everything DynDOLOD and start off from scratch by regenerating the textures, and see if that works.

Update: Well, I removed DynDOLOD and tried to launch Skyrim and it seemed to work fine. I installed DynDOLOD, DynDOLOD Resources, and regenerated the Textures, installed them... and I was very, very careful to follow every bit of instruction given...

I attempted to launch the game once more, and then I encounter Infinite Loading once again...

I am not sure what DynDOLOD is doing to break the game, but I am at a complete loss right now.

I was looking under the DynDOLOD download page and noticed that it had DynDOLOD Patches, and within DynDOLOD Patches was some stuff for Lanterns of Skyrim, Skyfalls and Skymills, and Skyrim Flora Overhaul.

Would these be the things I need to get Skyrim working properly?

Okay, I managed to finally get past the wagon after several attempts at getting this damn thing to work, slamming my face into issue after issue... for several hours. I finally got to the point where I am crashing when I try to enter Helgen Keep when going to follow either Ralof and the other guy.

I go to the door and the loading screen comes up. About 2-4 seconds later, CTD. Not sure what is causing this.. any help would be beneficial.

All but one of the disabled mods are merged into the bashed patch so you do not need to enable these mods. WM Trap Fixes.esp is the only mod that needs to be enabled after you create the bashed patch.

Yep. I have reasoned that it is not the bashed patch or any of the other mods, but that all of my issues are sprouting off from DynDOLOD for some reason. When I disable it, everything works fine. If I enable it, everything goes to hell.

I do not know how to create a drop down box, so I posted my mod order in the paste bin.

https://pastebin.com/u2q4hj6G

Right now I am encountering crashes while loading a saved game, and I am not sure why. The crashes are being pretty inconsistent, and it's really drawing away my want to play.
