Not yet! 980ti is still going strong with games and at resolution I played.

1080p I assume? My monitor is 1600p which is a bit more demanding... right now I get about 45fps in Witcher3 with Hairworks on and a few settings toned down. I want to hit 60... :)

my wife would seriously hurt me if i suggest we buy a new GPU and being what she does for a living she can get away with it hehehe.

My wife would too normally, but with the 970 fiasco I have $350 in Newegg credit lying around for the better part of a year now.... so it's a bit more palatible. :)

I'll need to find a buyer for this 980... really is a great card (Awesome OC, Aftermarket cooler) but I am afraid I have outgrown it personally.

I leased my 980 Ti from Cutting Edge Gamer last November for around $65 a month. Cool thing about Cutting Edge Gamer is that I have unlimited upgrades/downgrades. So when the 1080 Ti comes out I can just trade in 980 Ti and my lease will change accordingly with no additional cost to me (in terms of paying a fee for upgrading; lease will go up by around $20). All I have to do is check when on the site daily when it comes out to snag one when one becomes available. Though to be honest, I don't see any point since I am still running a 1080p monitor. I will probably wait and get a new monitor first.

I have a Gigabyte 1080 Extreme AIO Waterforce. So for me it is wait and see what the 2080 is like vs Vega/Navi. However who ever wins the performance crown, unless the flicker face bug is fixed with AMD cards in Skyrim SE, I am stuck with Nvidia. I might swap out my 6700K for a Ryzen 1800X if the benches support it. However my big tech spend this year is going to be Unifi for the house and garden.[1]

Here it is guys... almost immediate launch and only $699! Great price/performance ratio... supposedly 35% faster than base 1080. Nvidia is coming out swinging. AMD kinda dropped the ball with their Vega conference. That being said, on the processor front Ryzen looks great for AMD.

For those with more modest budgets will like this news as well:

"Those with more modest budgets will be pleased to hear the the memory improvements made to the 1080 Ti are trickling down to the GTX 1080 and GTX 1060. A new, pre-overclocked SKU of the GTX 1080 will feature the same 11GHz memory, while a new GTX 1060 SKU will feature 9GHz memory."
