Vividian ENB 7.5 very bright, white and washed out, as well as a flicker

battleof3

Question

I've an issue where everything is too bright, white and washed out.  Disabling adaptation, or setting forceminmax true for adaptation, and bloom helps with the overly bright, glow white a bit, but it is still too white and washed out.  Setting EnableProxyLibrary=false (aka turning smaa off) has no effect.  There is also a slight flicker in shadowed objects, as demonstrated in the two pictures below:

Here are my system specs.  I have the dx9 end user stuffs installed.  I am using ENBseries v3.14.  I've used Vividian in the past without any issues, on a Windows 7 install.  This bug occurs with no other mods as well as with, installed manually and through Mod Organizer, and is not specific to the abandoned prison from Live Another Life.  This bug also occurs in the vivid and vanilla configurations of Vividian.  Everything is set to application controlled in my graphics control panel.

My skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini respectively are below:

The next three links are my load order, enbseries.ini and enblocal.ini respectively:

Sorry for formatting errors and the like.  I'm not good at forums.

I also reported this on Vividian's nexus page.

I surprisingly had the very same issue just this last night and today I decided to troubleshoot a bit. I tried launching without MO and just going for launching it through Steam and even going so far as to get fresh ini files. Didn't work. I was really pissed off thinking that I was boned until I had an idea. What if it's the ENB version?

So I decided to try installing my old v0292 file instead of v0314 and suddenly it works perfectly. Really strange. But hey, at least it's fixed now.

Hope this helps you out.

It happens outside of the lal cell, but I will send screencaps from elsewhere as well.  I've kept LOOT up with each mod install, and this happens without any other mods, as well.  It also happens with and without a bashed patch, I forgot to mention.

That to me looks like a lighting issue with your ENB, I get the impression that your SSIL (Screen Space Indirect Lighting) might be the issue here, best way to work out what the main contributor to the problem is would be to load your game (even in the lal cell if you like since it won't make any difference whatsoever (this is an ENB problem not a regular lighting problem (at least not in this specific case))

Start by going through the -[EFFECT]- window in the in game gui and disable all the options one by one, if the problem persists after disabling the option, re-enable it and move on to disable the next one, When you find the culprit just navigate down to the settings of the effect you disabled and expand them, then re-enable the effect and tweak it until the colors better line up with what you would ideally want to see in your game.

I hope this was helpful to solving your ENB lighting issues

TechAngel85, I have indeed reinstalled and redownloaded several times.

Rebel47, I've troubleshooted as you mentioned, and found that disabling adaptation and bloom helps a small bit, but everything is still not coloured correctly.  I can try to mess about with the specific white/black balances in such, since that did seem to affect it.  However it really seems like more trouble than it's worth; at that rate I would just as well make my own preset haha.

scringlespringles, I'll swap the enb version and see if that changes anything.

Thanks, guys.  I'll get back to you as soon as I am able.

And what do you know?  Rolling back to ENB v0.292 solved it.  Thanks a ton you guys!  I have a couple other minor issues, but I will do some more testing after reinstalling Vividian and playing around a bit to ensure it's not just remnant settings or whatever.  If they do persist, so I know in advance, should I start a new topic for them or would it be okay to keep that here, as well?

So my next issue is antialiasing.  I have it all turned off in my game ini's, in the Skyrim launcher, and in the Nvidia control panel.  I am using the included SMAA injector with Vividian, and have the antialiasing turned off in enblocal, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything (see fishing pole below).  Any guidance for this one?

Also, I'm getting pretty bad stuttering and frame drops, which I don't think should be an issue considering my beefy gpu and ample amount of memory (using the osallocators patch from Crash Fixes).  However, that could just be an issue with background processes or something, so I'll do more fiddling on that end.

EDIT: forgot the picture lol
