I just want you to know ahead of time that I know this sounds really dumb since LoTD makes some big changes from vanilla and adds a lot of content in form of quests and ******** collectibles (chocolates, cards, books etc.). Besides I am probably not the first person to suggest this. However, all of that said I think it might be applicable for STEP due to:

1. It is best at what it does

It is the perfect "house" mod for the completionist and adds a lot of content without even doing any of the optional quests. Just filling up the museum is a joy in itself.

2. I think it is fairly well integrated

Sure, it sends you off on a few quests and adds some dig sites, but if we requested the author make an alternative version which reduced the amount (and price) of collectibles it would not be game breaking. I think just like CACO it might not be even close to vanilla Skyrim, but I think it is too good of a mod to pass up and well worth any other issues that come along with it.
