Weird RH ironsights bug when using arwen realism mod

lv4321

Question

Today I tried changing the rh ironsights weapon sway to the minimum when playing with my arwen realism tweaks mod. but the strange thing is everytime I change my weapon, the sway goes back to default instead of the minimum? This doesn't happen when i switch my weapon to another weapon that is identical to it. (switching from 10mm submachine gun to 10mm submachine gun)

However upon further testing, I realized that if i disable the entire arwen realism mod, the bug stops? Could anyone reproduce this with their mod organizer program?

Update: I found that the ironsights compatibility patch for Arwen realism is the main culprit (The item on the bottom of the load order)

How did the author miss this bug/issue? I appreciate his work on the realism mods but come on

Anyway, hopefully someone can replicate my issue seen here on a separate "test" profile in MO

Just a heads up, @Arwen is a woman so "she" may have missed it. :;):

Aside from that I have always in the past found all her work to be of the highest quality. I don't use anything from her now though due to the fact most of it is rather extensive overhaul type mods, which I prefer to steer away from. This is also why I had nothing to offer with your OP, I simply had no idea what it was doing.

Have you tried asking her about this issue? I recall her being very accommodating with her users.

I highly doubt she is even active on the nexus forums anymore, is there any profiles she still uses so i can contact her?

Doesn't she have her own site somewhere? I seem to recall seeing some of her documents hosted elsewhere. Sadly it's been so long since I've used any of her mods that I can't rely on my memory, it's flaky at the best of times.

Yeah, my mind isn't what it used to be either. For what it's worth, this is a quick 5 minute search so take it with a big dose of salt...

She links to a couple of documents on an external site in the mod description, but it appears to be abandoned. I can get to the hosting company page, but any attempt to get to her subdomain 404. I see a post in the forum on Nexus saying she's hanging out fairly exclusively on Star Citizen, but I think this post was a couple years ago.

So i did a testing of my own with the patch and found this to be interesting and probably why the mod is acting this way

I increased my gun skills (energy, big, small) to 100 and the swaying seems to be minimized to almost no swaying even when switching weapons. when i lower the skills to about 20 or so, the swaying becomes very noticeable and stays that way even when switching weapons. Now when i tried to increase the swaying for the first scenario (100 everything), it looks like it worked but when i change weapons, it changes back to before (very little swaying). And vice versa for the 2nd scenario.

I am thinking the patch actually adjusts your gun swaying based on your skills and DOES NOT allow you to change the gun swaying and rather wants it based on your gun skills. Damn, arwen you are very harsh on your realism mod

Not important, I was just thinking she may have created some new animations that are being played when the weapons lower and raise, but it probably isn't the case.

Since you state she hasn't then my line of thought is rendered moot.

Carry on and all the best with your modding.
