Missing Master

Is the missing master in the Neutral Vertibird mod or another mod? As far as I can see the Neutral Vertibirds at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community mod only relies on the fallout4.esm and the NeutralVertibirdsNoSchematics.esp relies on the Fallout4.esm and the NeutralVertibirds.esp. if you hover the mouse over the esp with the red triangle you will get a pop up telling you the missing master.

Let me ask this, did you follow the fomod installer or did you select the manual button?

If you followed the fomod installer and installed the mod, the installer will rename the esp to "Neutral Vertibirds.esp" no matter which language selected. If you selected the manual install you will get "NeutralVertibirdsEN.esp" or "NeutralVertibirdsDE.esp" this will cause the NeutralVertibirdsNoSchematics.esp to have the missing master, "Neutral Vertibirds.esp". This is the only way I could reproduce the missing master in the second esp.

The first thing I need to clarify is that "Neutral Vertibirds" is Not a FOMOD.

I have just finished re-installing everything.  That is MO2 and all of the mods.  Upon reinstalling I have an additionsl situation with the "Neautral Vertibirds".  After re-installing I got the same results as before. In addition now When trying a fresh download fron Nexus MO2 is telling me that "a file with the same name has already been downloaded. Do you want to download it again?  The new file will receive a different name".  I stoped the download.  I don't understand.  I made sure the first Download was not in the Downloads File, it is not in the list on the right side and it is not in the list on the left side.

No, but it sees it in the actual downloads folder in MO. Basically, when you reinstalled, you didn't do a complete wipe, just an overwrite. Not an issue, but because this installation didn't do the download, it treats it as if it had been hidden by the user in the downloads tab... so the file is there, just not visible in MO. I'd recommend checking and clearing out the downloads folder in MO, then downloading again.

I think you said you checked that, but make sure you check everywhere you've ever had MO installed since you've started having this problem - it sees it somewhere, or the warning wouldn't show.

I have to think that you are probably right.  I am going to try for the third time.  I have searched every conceivable place for that file and have come up with zero.  I just wish I could solve the other two problems with the "missing masters"  and also the problem With "setting the data directory" when trying to install two mods  before I go the third time around.

Thanks for the help.  I will probably be posting again when I run into a snag.

Not saying this to be combative or anything, but the Vertibird mod I linked has a FOMOD folder inside and acts like one when installed. Is that the same mod you have? If not post a link. Also post a picture of the problem with the vertibird mod this may help.

I might also suggest to going over to the MO Discord server and downloading the latest developer build in the # builds section. Links are on the Mod Organizer 2 for Skyrim Special Editon - Nexus page . Scroll down to the reporting issues section. A lot of work has been done to the program since the 2.1.3 release. You can just copy it over your current install.

No offense taken.  Here is the link to the mod I have been using.  https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12312.

If you have a better one, Please share.  Perhaps if you would, could you walk me through the install.  I must be doing something wrong.  I went to the mod site and left a post there but no answer back yet.  It looks like the mod has been abandoned by the author.  What exactly would you like a photo of and how would I post it here?

Thanks

Sorry,  I looked in another post I had and you did walk me through it.  I did this again and got  the same result:

(Could not load file or assembly ‘GamebryoBase, Virsion=1.1.6703.18486, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null’ or one of it’s dependencies.  The system cannot find the file specified.  When I close this window an error comes up “installation failed (errorcode 5).).

By the way I am working with a fresh install of MO2 this morning.  Before starting I did Validate the files on Steam.  The first mod I installed this morning was "Neutral Vervibird".

At this point my question is in what order should the file be set in the file tree?

Open Windows Explorer and go into the NCC\GameModes folder in Mod Organizer. The base path should be something like this:

C:\ModOrganizer\NCC\GameModes

You should have 19 DLL files along with a data folder here and one of the files should be GamebryoBase.dll. If this file isn't here, something is off with your Mod Organizer installation. Either Mod Organizer wasn't installed correctly or perhaps your AntiVirus software decided you don't need this file and deleted it for you without question or notification. Unfortunately, some AntiVirus software cause more harm than good and aren't worth the trouble.

If the file is here, right click Gamebryo.dll, select Properties, and look toward the bottom right of the Properties dialog for an Unblock button (Windows 7) or an Unblock checkbox (Windows 10). If you see the Unblock button or checkbox, this means all of the executables in the Mod Organizer folder are blocked and Windows 10 or your antivirus software may be preventing the file from loading. If this is the case, you'll need to select, right click, click Unblock, and click OK on every *.exe *.dll file in the Mod Organizer folder. This is somewhat painful because you'll have to do it one file at a time.

This is what I have.  Is this in an acceptable place?

Game Poets instructions was before anything to right click on the MO2 download and as you said right click the download and in properties click the Unlock button.  Would that have done the same thing?

OK, looks like you did a manual install as I outlined in the post 4 above. Do the following:

  1. You have to rename the NeutralVertibirdsEN.esp to NeutralVertibirds.esp
  2. Move the NeutralVertibirdsDE.esp to the optional folder, assuming this the english version of the game, or you can delete it from the filetree tab.
  3. That should get you going assuming you have not modified anything else.
