[HELP] DYNDOLOD not recognizing dyndolod.dll (SSE)

Ayyavazi

Question

Hello all,

I'm trying to install DynDOLOD and running into a problem. When I boot up SSE I receive an error that DynDOLOD requires dyndolod.dll. I've installed this file in the game directory as indicated in the documentation. I have opened up the DynDOLOD resources file, replaced the scripts, and re-archived it, then installed it. I have also followed all the troubleshooting guidelines from the various manuals, including cleaning saves in new cells. I use SKSE 2.0.10 for Skyrim SE 1.5.53, and downloaded the correct DLL. I have also tried upgrading to the newest SKSE and SSE to try that DLL file, and it still did not work. I've also followed the Gamerpoets video.

I was able to generate the LODs just fine, but the game refuses to recognize the .dll file. Can someone help me figure out what I screwed up?

FAQ: Game: DynDOLOD requires DynDOLOD.DLL

A: If the intention is to use PapyrusUtil, make sure the papyrus scripts from DynDOLOD Resources are not overwritten by the papyrus scripts from DynDOLOD DLL.

A: The DynDOLOD.DLL is not installed, outdated or not running at all.

A: Make sure you have the correct DynDOLOD.DLL version for the current Skyrim and SKSE versions that is used and none of its file are overwritten by other mods.

A: Check the c:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\[skyrim|Skyrim Special Edition|Skyrim VR]\SKSE\[skse|skse64|sksevr].log that the DynDOLOD.DLL was loaded correctly.

That reads complicated and error prone and is not needed. Simply use a proper mod manager and install the DynDOLOD DLL papyrus scripts so that they overwrite or load after DynDOLOD Resources.

Thanks for the response Draon King,

In regards to your first post, I have triple checked my SKSE and Skyrim versions against the DLL list and have ensured that I downloaded the proper DLL. I checked the SKSE logs and there is no mention of the DynDOLOD.DLL, only the .esm and .esp.

To address your second response, I re-installed the resources file (2.45) and created a new "mod" with the replacement scripts in them titled DynDOLOD Scripts, which I placed lower in the load order and install order (through MO2). I tried rebooting from a clean save and received the need DynDOLOD.dll error. Upon leaving the interior space, two error messages scrolled talking about masters and index for DynDOLOD_.

I can provide my load order if you like, and/or screenshots of my install order or file directories. Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

I checked the SKSE logs and there is no mention of the DynDOLOD.DLL, only the .esm and .esp.

The skse64.log will never mention any game plugins like esm/esp plugins. Its content should look something like this

SKSE64 runtime: initialize (version = 2.0.11 010503E0 01D48FA4893B1E03, os = 6.1 (7601))
imagebase = 000000013F490000
reloc mgr imagebase = 000000013F490000
config path = C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\skse.ini
minidumps enabled
old exception filter = 00000001407F2F48
plugin directory = c:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\
checking plugin C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\DynDOLOD.DLL
plugin C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\DynDOLOD.DLL (00000001 DynDOLOD 000000F5) loaded correctly

If there are no lines for the DynDOLOD.DLL, then the file is not installed correctly.

Thanks Sheson,

I don't know what to do here. I've checked the logs and it mentions all the other DLLs I have (such as UltimateCombat) but not DynDOLOD. I've placed dyndolod.dll in the game directory and made sure it is the proper version. The weird thing is the SKSE64.log indicates the files are stored in Skyrim Special Edition/Data/SKS/Plugins. I do not have an SKSE folder in the Data folder. Is this a virtual folder created by MO2? If so, how do I porperly install the dll?

Cheers,
