updating 2.69 to 2.72 and now ctd when saving

delweyn

Question

Hello,

I can't save anymore because I get a CTD everytime I try to save (regular or quicksave). It happens on all my saves.

With the updating of 2.69 to 2.72, I reduced 3 settings too, to gain fps :

- I reduced from 512 to 256 in both textgen and dyndolod

- I selected medium setting instead of high, in dyndolod.

- I use now normal tree LOD (instead of high quality)

Dyndolod.esp is put at the very last in the right panel of MO2. If I uncheck it, I can save again.

I wanted to get back to 2.69 version, but I can't find the DynDOLOD Resources SE 2.69 anymore :/

Thank you very much for any help.

The problem is very unlikely to be the DynDOLOD version used to generate the LOD mod.

CTD when saving is a common issue regardless of DynDOLOD being in the load order or not.

Test with a new game.

Make sure to carefully follow the update procedure for existing save games.

Test without DynDOLOD. Make a clean save. Consider using a save tool to remove orphaned scripts.

Re Sheson.

I have done what you suggested with the clean save (10 unattached instances detected and deleted) and it worked!!! I'm so relieved ^^.

Thank you, for your solution and for your great mod. You're great.

I just have a last question (because I'm not an english native speaker so I'm not sure to understand all, sorry).

I'm using a mod called "Culling Data Glitch Fix - TVDT removed" that correct the squares of missing distant land (in the sea, often). If I understand well, I can remove this mod since dyndolod 2.70?

Yes, that mods is obsolete now. Either use xLODGen or DynDOLOD to generate updated TVDT data that fixes holes in the LOD without the negative performance impact. See https://forum.step-project.com/topic/14250-skyrim-tvdt-occlusion-data/
