Replacing LE mods in STEP SE Guide with SE versions

Hello people of STEP. I noticed that a handful of mods listed in the guide link to LE (Oldrim) mods on Nexus despite some of them having SE ports available. Two examples I’ve noticed are “aMidianBorn Book of Silence†and “HD Stone Quarry and Clay Depositâ€. Is it generally okay/recommended to use available SSE ports of mods when the guide lists LE mods?

If so, are there “STEP Recommends†steps that may have been for SE compatibility that can be ignored? For example, I’ve noticed so far that every mod that has had instructions to “hide†files in Mod Organizer has been an LE mod. I’m not sure if this is a coincidence up to this point in the guide, but I have wondered if the files are being hidden for SE compatibility or something like that.

Thank you!

Latest Step SE was released may 3. aMidianBorn SE was released june 30... so there is one explanation.

The "all-in-one"-version of the SE-version is BSA-packed so i dont think we want that. The optional armor-files are twice the size of the LE-mod for some reason. Are they higher resolution maby?

All mods in the SE guide should be SE versions unless explicitly stated otherwise.

It would be best if you could list all those that you are noting, and we'll update the links/instructions

I updated AMB in the SE Guide. Install is exactly the same, but I needed to create the forum thread and modify the wiki mod page.

Cool. I will keep a list of any others I come across as I go through the guide and post them here when I’m done. Or if there’s a more appropriate place to post them, let me know.

Shad0wAng3l09 is taking over most of Ramccoid's mods and converting them to Skyrim Special Edition. I think Drops is the only mod by Ramccoid currently in the guide.

A few other mods that are currently pointing to Skyrim Legendary Edition version that are available for Skyrim Special Edition.

HD Stone Quarry and Clay Deposit (SE)

High-Res Dartwing (Dragonfly) Texture

I pulled the raw HTML for the guide and searched Nexus for all mods with a link to www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/ and these are the only mods I found in the Skyrim Special Edition section.

I’d like to point out that the SSE version of Drops is reported to have upside down drops. Not sure if that’s in the LE Version. Also, SSE Drops doesn’t have a FOMOD yet.

As for HD Stone Quarry, STEP recommends 1K, and the 1K file isn’t offered on the SSE page. The port was posted by TechAngel though so it may be possible to get that fixed pretty quickly.

EDIT: I see now that the guide steps reflect the differences. The mod table still says 1K for HD Quarry though while the directions say 2K now.
