Old news and it will be a while before it's ready for mass production.

 

I want one too, but they need to get pixel density up for each eye. That's the biggest issue with it right now.

 

And make it less bulky so it's comfortable to wear for hours...

 

It's a great project and with some luck (i.e. proper game devs support), it will become the next big thing for PC gamers. I can just about imagine how immersive it would to play Skyrim or Flight Simulator with it. It's supposed to support Minecraft out of the box too!

There have been a few big names supporting it recently, namely Gabe Newell and the guy from id that I can't remember. Unless one of the other giants actively tries to shut them down I can't see it being a total failure, and it might even be a decent success. As Monty said, my money needs to be locked up so it's not running away to them. (So that's why we need bank vaults!)

How can you remember Gabe Newell and not remember John Carmack, the legend of PC gaming?
