When posting a mod suggestion for inclusion into STEP, the 'warning' text states to consider creating a modpage on the wiki for the mod, but no reason is given as to why it might be preferable to do this.

Perhaps the reason(s) could be included - it would be more persuasive, at least.

Thanks.

It just elimites one step for us, if the mod is accepted into a Guide. It's not necessary, but having the community do this also helps to build our "mod database". We're hopeful that users will be able to use the same framework we use for our Guides to put together their own user-built guides and will be used for the planned "STEP Builds". This plays off the old "Packs" idea, however, it won't be a separate framework like that one was. Honestly, it's still too early to say how this plan will play out, but it's one thing we're looking into. Thus, the more mod pages we have on the wiki, the faster it will be for users to slap together their mod lists using our framework.

I thought that might be the case, but then I wondered why you would want a DB full of rejected mods.

But OK, makes sense, thanks.

I just updated it. All that information is already included on out Citizenship Guidelines so I've simply linked to if for a more thorough review before posting.

I actually preferred the previous version of the message; it was clear and concise.  As it is now, you have to click through two links to see the boilerplate and at first I wasn't sure if that was to be used in the wiki only or the forum post too.

We'll address it again with the forum update, as it will have to be redone anyway because the new version of the forums use HTML rather than BBCode.
