Wrye Bash Doesn't Uninstall Everything

Zerocloud411

Question

So I switched to Wrye Bash from NMM since I understood that it made clean uninstalls but I just did an entire uninstall of all of my mods and a ton of files are still left over. Textures I removed, skyproc folder, etc... Is this normal or am I doing something wrong with Wrye? Thanks for your time.

will that also remove all my enb and skse files?

Nope, those aren't in Data directory, those are in Skyrim folder (Why you would want to remove SKSE, BTW??)

And overall I don't understand why it just leaves stuff in there

Well, the most correct answer would be: because it's programmed this way. Why that you ask? IDK :P

Haha it moved my dragonborn.bsa and .esp too. Yea definately not a safe thing to do left and right.

That actually brings up an idea. Could I make 7zips of the official .bsas and .esms and just turn them into mods? that way I can safely clean out skyrim or better yet reinstall it if i want without issues?

Well, it moved Dragonborn because it doesn't know it's official stuff...

Yes, you can make archives of esm/bsa files, just don't share them to anyone else

BTW try Mod Orgaznizer, it does't even move mods to your data directory when it installs them ;)

Installation? IDK, but what I know is that it saves my time

  • it unpacks .bsa's
  • checks nexus for updates
and my roommate plays skyrim too, he has different suit of liked mods, so the second viable option would be swapping installations - no way

Hm i'll check it out, only plus for me seems to be the checking mods for updates but I already spent like 3 hours tracking everything lol. Thanks.

Oh and turns out I can't archive the official bsas and esps because wrye has them on an ignore list. Dragonborn is the only exception
