Skyrim-Community-Uncapper Guide

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but always forgot about it.

Basically, Elys has created a wonderfully versatile and powerful SKSE plugin that allows you to alter all the leveling stats you can think of in it's nifty ini file. Along with that is the ability to remove the level caps change the frequency of leveling, the amount of perks your Dova receives, the amount of health, stamina, or magicka you receive.

The level caps are independent for each skill, for example, a mage character could set all the magic skills to 200 and all the warrior skills to 50. The speed of each skills leveling can be altered as well, which can slow down skills that level to fast or speed up the slow pokes.

I personally like the ability to change how many perks I can get when I level up. By setting a certain level to any number, i.e. 2=1, 20=2, 40=3; your character will get 1 perk until level twenty, 2 perks until level forty, and 3 perks from then on. Elys also informed me that it accepts float numbers (have not confirmed myself, maybe tonight), so you could set it to 2=1.25 and receive 1 extra perk for every 4th level up or 100 total perks by level 81.

The amount of health, magicka and stamina gained from the choice you make during a level up works similar to the perks per level where you would just change it to 2=20 to get twice the value on level up, and each one has it's own setting.

Besides these caps there is the skill effect formula cap which some skill listen to in Skyrim, but others don't so this can be changed from a default 100 to a higher or lower value. And, I think v1.9 added a cap on the enchanting table so you could limit the power to enchant things.

Lastly, each individual setting has an enable/disable setting so if you don't want the plugin controlling a certain part of your game, then just set it to 0.

Elys keeps this updated and is always helpful on the thread. It may conflict with other mods that affect leveling, but other than that I've never had a problem. Also, Skyrim -Elys- MemInfo for people testing framerate, RAM useage, and virtual memory usage is available for SKSE.

EDIT: sorry it was virtual memory not VRAM.

Hmm, meminfo can show VRAM aswell? I only get it to show fps, RAM usage and pagefile size

And yes, the uncapper is indeed great, just as it was for Oblivion. :)

Yes I've been tracking this one for a while planning to use it to decrease levelling speed slightly when I get back to playing properly again. I already use Sliders to give me a 5:1 timescale (quarter vanilla speed iirc).

I like mods that allow me to 'live' an RPG rather than just play it, and the TES series have always been perfect for that (living as a hunter in Oblivion was great fun and well supported by mods).

Just need to figure out which is the best (least intrusive) mod to sort out the weak upper level NPC/mob issue.

@s4n

I did see that one, and despite liking to quote Einstein I find the idea of dynamic time a little 'upsetting' ;) I really just want longer days to get more done before dark descends on the land 'for the night is dark and full of fear'. Thanks for pointing it out tho'.

Hehe...I hear ya. I don't go as low as a ratio of 5, but I kind of like the idea of slowing it down further while in combat.

I recently installed STEP v2.2.3 and everything was working great. After Steam auto-updated me to Skyrim v1.9, I keep getting this error message when I launch Skyrim from the skse_loader...

"SKSE Community Uncapper does not support this Skyrim Version. You can enable the AutoUpdate functionality by setting bAutoUpdate=1 inside the SKSE_Elys_Uncapper.ini file."

However, I installed the latest Skyrim Community Uncapper version for this new patch from the nexus. Any idea what's causing this?

That version might only be for v1.9.26, so if you're still in the beta and are using v1.9.32 it might pop up that error. As the message says, you can edit that value to re-enable the mod; doing so should be harmless with such a minor update.

Should there be a note added on the STEP guide next to the Community Uncapper mod warning people NOT to install Uncapper through Mod Organizer?  Someone on this thread said he had problems trying to get Uncapper to work through Mod Organizer and solved it by installing it manually.
