Requires SKSE

This mod allows you to block while dual wielding. For better results you should use it with the recommended mod, Dual Wield Blocking animations for proper blocking animations.

I've been using it for a month without any obvious issues*. It does what it says it does.

*I'm sure not everyone's experience will be flawless, but no mod is perfect

It supports the following combinations:

Quote
  • Nothing + Nothing (bare fists)
  • One-handed Weapon + Nothing
  • One-handed Weapon + Shield
  • One-handed Weapon + One-handed Weapon
  • Two-handed Weapon
  • Nothing + Shield
  • Spell + Shield
  • Staff + Shield
  • One-handed Weapon + Spell (ONLY works if the Spell is in the left hand)
  • Staff + Nothing (ONLY works if the Staff is in the left hand)
  • Staff + One-handed Weapon (ONLY works if the Staff is in the left hand)
  • Spell + Nothing (ONLY works if the Spell is in the left hand)

I don't know if it's fit for STEP or not but I thought I'd share. I'm sure some people will be interested in it.

Mod Testing

  • Does it use a plugin or only SKSE? (veryfy conflicts if former)
  • What are the recommended options? What are the diffs? What are each of the people testing the mod out using?
  • ANSWERS (thanks Vond)

Accepted for STEP v2.2.6

I personally don't think this should be included in STEP. While I have no problem with the mod itself, it changes the balance of dual wielding quite dramatically. The dual wielding was balanced with lack of blocking in mind, and, IMO, giving dual wielding blocking makes it totally superior to single wielding, and sword and board.

I think it's more about play style then balance. Personally I pick sword and board any day before dual wielding. Besides skyrim have never been balanced, you dominate the majority of the enemies and once in awhile you come across a mage or two-handed warrior that crush you in two hits.

Yeah shields are way way better... even more so if you actually scale the enemies to your own level and/or use a combat overhaul mod as well...

Also if you block... then you do not do damage... and you take more damage when hit compared to a shield..so I would say that it balance out fairly well.

In general just a must have mod imo.

To answer the mod testing questions:

1) It does use a plugin. Zero conflicts, the esp only contains one entry for a new idle animation and one for a new "quest" (ie the menu etc)

2) The only options in MCM is to change the hotkey for it (defaults to V). Might've been one more but if so I forgot
