Is there a wrong and a right way to limit FPS in Skyrim? I know ENB has a limiter, there's an external program FPS Limiter, etc.

You should be using your nvidia or ati driver software for best results.

Understood but I want to limit to 30fps, not 60fps which is what vsync is at.

For nVidia you can limit to 30fps using nVidia Inspector. I'm not familiar with the tools available for ATI.

so disable vsync and set driver to 30 fps and live with the tearing, pretty easy with nvidia inspector I don't know how easy with ati. :ninja:

Only thing I see is to disable vsync... can't specify a frame limit. I'll see if I can find any guides via google.

You need nVidia Inspector in order to see the FSP limit option.

I use an ATI card, so unfortunately that will not help me. :)

I'll just leave this here for nvidia users

For the record, setting it to 30fps increases loadtimes massively. You need 32+ for normal loadtimes, so I set it to 35 in inspector. Huge difference. As for nvidia, there are other ways such as ENB (buggy setting sadly), MSI Afterburner (make sure you set it up in the way that works properly with ENB+RCRN), Bandicam etc etc

You can use MSI Afterburner's fps limiter with any card.

I use Dxtory and set it at 40 FPS. Works perfect.

I used Dxtory in the past aswell, but sadly it didn't work with ENB 109 or 110. Never tried it with 111 though but have my doubts.
