Wrye Bash merge/bashed patch question

Bundy714

Question

Ok, I can't find the answer to this anywhere.  I'm setting up my Skyrim installation with the STEP mods and some others I wanted to add.  Of course I wanted to check things out midway during the installation, rather than wait till I had loaded all my mods.

When I made my first bashed patch, Wrye Bash said that 7 small, simple, mods could be merged into the bashed patch.  I let it merge them into the bashed patch and unchecked their .esp's.  Ran my test and everything ran fine, even the mods that were merged into my bashed patch.   So, I start adding the rest of the mods that I wanted to add to my game, and here is where I am a loss as to what to do.  I know how to rebuild the patch to create a new bashed patch for level list purposes.  The part I'm not sure about is what exactly to do with the 7 mods that I unchecked and merged into the patch when I originally created it.

I'm thinking that as long as those 7 .esp's are not checked, they will NOT be included into my new bashed patch.  So, I am guessing that I need to recheck/re-enable those 7 .esp files, if I want them to be included in the new bashed patch.  Am I correct?  So, anytime I create a new bashed patch, I should re-enable any .esp's that Wrye Bash unchecked the previous run?

That seems logical, but I'd like someone with some experience to confirm it for me.  Thanks

OK so bashed patch only then? Also thanks for your various replies on different topics today! Much appreciated. I'm in the middle of a new modded setup...

No they get merged into bashed patch if they are in your load order regardless. You want to leave those plugins in your load order unchecked so they can be there for future bashed patches.

Thanks so much, that's why I asked, what seems "logical" to me, might not be correct.  So, once incorporated into the bashed patch and unchecked, they will continue to be incorporated into newer bashed patches as long as I leave the unchecked .esp files in my load order.  Excellent.  I really appreciate the support and quick answer.
