That's true. It's only two meshes. Boot meshes to be exact. Seems like a weird conflict. I guess I should just dress my character in mage boots and look for clipping issues?

I'm having a problem with foot textures when using this mod. I don't know what's causing it and I've tried disabling different mods but it won't go away unless I disable this mod. I've also tried redownloading/reinstalling multiple times, but it still happens.

 

It's not purple/black so it can't be a missing texture.

 

Anyone know what I should do? 

 

I haven't installed any other mods other than the ones in the Step 2.2.9 guide.

You know there's something similar to this (though the other user doesn't have Better Males installed) in this thread. Tech maybe you could look at it and figure out what textures are causing the problem it seems to be with the optimized vanilla assest (at least in the other thread).

I'm using MO and I've installed the Geonox Faces and Underwear - Default. I haven't used any of the optional textures.

I'm also having issues when using optimized textures, but even when I disable the optimized textures the feet are still wrong.

 

This is my modlist btw, I don't know whether this is happening because of conflicting mods but as far as I know I haven't installed anything else that changes male bodies.

Hi, I read all six pages of this section, and neither STEP:core guide nore the posts in this form suggest what to install.  There seem to be hints here that no optionals (from both faces and underwar) get installed, but nothing concrete.  So..... to follow a core install, install no optionals from either download?  Is that correct?

Yes, just install what is linked on the mod page and nothing else.

I believe you're referring to the 'optional' downloads (you said linked on page).  I'm not referring to optional files on the page, I'm referring to the optional FOLDER during installation of both mods.  Earlier in this topic, others mentioned it, but wasn't sure if i should untick the optional folder or not.

Nearox, has stated that by DDSopting the mod we gain a significant amount of VRAM which can help in heavy populated cities while retaining almost the same quality. The STEP guide is about performance,too. So, why not investigate into the subject more?

We've talked about this before and for individual mods, it will be up to the user to DDSopt the textures themselves if they need the extra VRAM space. These are essentially 4K textures so user can decide if they need the extra space and DDSopt or not. This is discussed starting on this tab of the DDSopt Guide.

The only problem I have here, is that if you don't want to go to the Nexus (because NSFW), you have no idea that the textures are 4k. No where in the guide does it mention this. I chose performance settings for most mods, and avoid anything 4K (and generally try to remain at the 1k level). So to say it is up to me to decide if I need to DDSopt them for the extra VRAM is unfair as I wouldn't know I need this one specifically DDSopted. Not an issue if I decide to just DDSopt everything I suppose, as blanket DDSopting things means I don't need to know the original sizes. Regardless, please list in the guide that the textures are 4k so users will be aware.

 

edit: went to the mod page after reading the above comment about 4k, and I don't even see it listed there... And that mod page does not make me pleased to use this mod at all. Terrible presentation... I am very tempted to use the better feet mod instead as I don't care about the textures from the mod, but it seems this mod makes some kind of mesh fixes so I'll trust to STEP mods and download+DDSopt this.
