New 5.0 version of Weapons and Armor Fixes Complete Plus out, questions about the patches

STEP instructions might need to revisit the install procedures for the Weapon and Armour Fixes mod.

 

 

STEP instructions:

 

Download and install the following:

• "Weapons and Armor Fixes - COMPLETE PLUS"
• "Compatibility Patch - Guard Dialogue Overhaul" - select the COMPLETE PLUS or TRUE WEAPONS option only
• "Improved Closefaced Helmets -- WAF and CCF Compatible Versions" - ONLY "Improved Closefaced Helmets_Legendary.esp" is needed (see explanation). However, don't enable "Improved Closefaced Helmets_Legendary.esp" until the actual Improved Closefaced Helmets mod is installed in section 2.I, or you'll get guards walking around without helmets.

 

 

The newest 5.0 of Complete Plus is bundled Weapon and Armor Fixes Remade (all-in-one installer)

More importantly, the guard dialog overhaul patch seems no longer available as an individual patches/file. From the WAF read me:

6) aMidianborn Skyforge Weapons
-------------------------------
 If you are using aMidianborn Skyforge Weapons.esp, then copy the patch file located in the "15 Patch ambSkyforge" folder into your data folder.  
 Make sure this file is loaded after both aMidianborn Skyforge Weapons.esp and Weapons & Armor Fixes_Remade.esp

 You DO NOT need this file if you are using the aMidianborn Content Addon file.  
 This patch also includes changes from the Unofficial Patch, Guard Dialogue Overhaul, and Even Better Quest Objectives., so it can be used in place of separate patches for those mods."

 

 

Not sure if Closefaced helmets has changed. Info from the read me:

 

8) Improved Closefaced Helmets
------------------------------
PLEASE NOTE: These are replacement files, not patch files, so they will take the place of, or overwrite, the original plugin files downloaded from the Improved Closefaced Helmets mod page.
**You MUST first install Improved Closefaced Helmets, since none of the meshes are included here.**

 In the "17 Patch ICH" file, choose from:

   ICH Combo - **Requires DAWNGUARD AND DRAGONBORN**
     Use this file if you have both DLCs and are using the "WAF Complete" or "WAF Complete Plus" file.  
     This file combines the Full Set, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn files into a single plugin.
     This file should be used in place of any .esp files from the original ICH mod.  
     You should NOT install any of the other ICH files provided here; use this file on its own.        

   ICH Combo Plus - **Requires DAWNGUARD AND DRAGONBORN**  
     Use this file if you have both DLCs and are using the "WAF Complete" or "WAF Complete Plus" file.  
     This file combines the Full Set, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn into a single plugin.
     This file also includes changes if using the Imperial-No Cloth Around Neck option.
     This file should be used in place of any .esp files from the original ICH mod.
     You should NOT install any of the other ICH files provided here; use this file on its own.

   ICH Main - no DLC Requirement
     This is a replacement file for the FULL SET file from ICH.
     Use this file in place of the original imp_helm.esp file.

   ICH DG - **Requires DAWNGUARD**
     This is a replacement file for the Dawnguard add-on file from ICH.
     Use this file in place of the original imp_helm_dawn.esp file.

   ICH DB - **Requires DRAGONBORN**
     This is a replacement file for the Dragonborn add-on file from ICH.
     Use this file in place of the original imp_help_dbrn.esp file.   "

Don't update. Kryptopyr still has to update CCF and CCOR to match the new keywords from WAF. Both those mods will be included in the next STEP update. We are aware, but thank you for going so in depth with the bug report.

OK you are welcome.

 

But I don't think it's possible to install the guard dialog overhaul patch because it is no longer an individual file anywhere in the mod.

 

Also, do I want to install Improved ClosedHelmets Combo, or Improved ClosedHelmets Combo Plus? Each one is named Improved Closefaced Helmets Legendary.esp but is a different size

Yeah, with the switch to LOOT you will not need it anymore. Just put WAF after GDO in the load order and all conflicts are gone.

So, move Weapons and Armor Fixes Remade with Dawnguard and Dragonborn support (the version I isntalled) up in the load order so that it follows Guard Dialogue Overhaul?

Yes, that will remove the need for a patch.

Not yet. I'd just leave the bashed patch out for now. Use it after 2.H and every section from there on.
